Post your favorite FREE APP for iphone..

If you need to count calories, try the My Fitness Pal app. I have been using it every day since January 7th, and have lost 15 pounds. It makes it so easy to keep track of everything you eat.

I love this app. too. I used that for a long time last year. I've recently joined WeightWatchers online & their app is horrible compared to My Fitness Pal. They are both based on the same premise, but WW is not even close to being as good (and that one cost me $59 for 3 months).

My favorite apps are facebook, Scrabble (but mine was about 2.00, not free), WordPlay, IMDB (I always have a tough time placing actors and this helps a bunch), TMZ.

My five year old is hooked on My Angry Birds (99 cents - she grew out of the Angry Birds Lite) ds, Cut the Rope (free).

I didn't read the whole thread yet, so I apologize if some of these are duplicates. Here are my favorite freebies:

Netflix (We are subscribers. I was surprised to find out that I can watch over a 3G connection, so it's available while waiting for appointments, etc. where there is no WiFi.)
Spark People (diet app)
I Heart Radio (music)
Slacker (music)
Paper Toss (addictive game)
Air Hockey (game)
Can Knockdown (game)
TV Guide
Find iPhone (Allows you to track your phone if it's lost, via the built in GPS. You can also wipe the data remotely.)
Fooducate (Weight Watchers points)

My most used apps are:

GroceryIQ - Keeps a nice grocery list, and I can Scan in items, plus has coupons.
The Weather Channel
Facebook
Kindle
The Bible
Waze - GPS app
Urbanspoon
MobileRSS
CraigsPro
woot me!
Slacker Radio
Netflix
Mint
Pocketmoney (lite)
Cover Orange (game)

Dumb questions :upsidedow How in the WORLD do I organize my apps? I would like to put all of the kids' games on one page. Also, how can I DELETE downloaded apps? We downloaded Racecar Maker & DS7 hates it.

I love:
Bible
Words with Friends-free (I'm SOOO addicted!!!)
K-Love
Sudoku2
I would love Chess with Friends if I could find ANYone to play with!
And SO many others that you all have recommended :flower3:

The kids love:
Angry Birds lite
Cut the Rope lite
Art of Glow
Multiplication Genius lite (quizzes them on multiplication)

Press the app like you are going to open it, but hold it until they all start shaking. You can drag them around to reorganize them, or you can delete them by clicking the X that will pop up in the corner of each app. To make them stop shaking and return to normal, click the home button.

You can also put them into groups. Do exactly what the PP says but move one app over another app (that you would like in the same group). You can rename the group if you like (I have Games I, Games II, etc.).

These are my favorite apps (but I'm not sure they are all free. Some were free when I got them. Every so often they offer apps for free for a period of time)

Tripit
Shazam
gasbook
night camera
camera zoom
undercover tourist
tetris
fandango
weather channel
mapquest

Ahhhh, THAT's what all that "shaking" is about :rotfl: I will do this now. :woohoo: Perhaps I should've read the instruction manual? Nah, that's what the DIS is for :rotfl2:

OMG - mapquest! Is this just like the computer one? :surfweb: I love that, I like it much better than a GPS that "recalculates" everything and practically screams "TUUUURN" right as you drive by the exit  I need to know two or three steps ahead to feel comfortable when I'm driving. So if I use this en route does it just give me a page of directions like the online one and I can screen shot it for reference? That would be fab-u-lous!!!

Great thread...thank you everyone.

You can also make "folders" aka "pockets" to organize your apps.

Just touch and hold your app until it starts to shake.
Then drag that app on top of another app and it creates the folder/pocket...a text box will come up so you can name it too.
You then can keep dragging and dropping whatever you want in it.

I have my kids games in one. My magazine and book apps in another.

Hope that helps!

(oops should have read ahead...see that figment 2 already answered....sorry bout that!)

You have to have upgraded to the OS4 to get the folders for the apps, correct? I am still running the older version.

What is the best free app for finding wait times at WDW?

WDW waits and WDW maps are both free. One is just a list of wait times, and the other has maps of the parks with wait times as well. I have not been to the world since I downloaded them, so I can't tell you how accurate they are.

I also enjoy WDW hours, and WDW dining. these were also free.

A fun game is Where in Walt Disney world. It gives you pictures of things around magic kingdom and you have to guess where it is. There is a free and a paid version of this. I have the free and its fun, but I think the paid app has a lot more features.

Very useful list - thank you all so much! Giving it a bump in case others have input. Thanks!

I live by Pandora's free music app! I have an mp3 cable jack in my car, so I can just listen to it through the radio.

It works like the computer app, but it also has the ability to GPS for you (voice nav and all) if you turn it on. I've never had the app recalculate position, it works better than any GPS I've ever encountered!

I agree! I love Pandora and have been able to find many of my fav songs through their stations!

Does WDW have wifi in the parks? I only have a itouch so free wifi would be my only way to use it in the parks.

Read thru most of the posts and had a couple to add:

White Pages
Rest Area (uses GPS to determine nearest rest area when traveling)
WhiteBoard

Think these were about $2??
Animal Kingdom Map
Epcot Map
MK Map
Hollywood Studios Map
