Post Your ADRs: September 2009 ADR Master List!

I thought we were talking about being on vacation? And some of the other posters breakfasts weren't until 9 or 9:30 and dinners at around 5:00 p.m.

I don't really care if the other poster wants to eat the ENTIRE time they are at WDW, but let's be realistic, if you are in MK from say 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. are you actually going to spend 6 of those hours eating at and going to and from ADRs? Not likely.

Aren't weekends sort of "vacation", too. I know they are for me! And I don't see an hour (8AM compared to 9Am) being THAT much of a difference....you order a light lunch, get off your feet, sit down, relax, and get someone to bring you your salad rather than having to stand in line at a CS place to do it yourself. For us, our lunch is often more of a "scheduled sit down break" where we know we'll get a table in a climate controlled, covered, less hectic area where we can grab something light. With our 3 little one in tow, that can be a lifesaver. Most people eat 3 meals in a day, anyway...you just have to figure out WHERE, WHEN, and in what manner, you want to eat them.

Again, I'm just pointing out it has worked for US. WE do this kind of thing, though not every trip, and it's worked fine. If that's the way the OP wants to spend their vacation...I say go for it. And she's certainly been made aware of any pitfalls. If that's not your style, more power to you. Don't do it...and by all means, say your piece about why you think it won't work....just as I'll share my experience as to when it does.

We're DVC members, we have AP's, we've been 6 times in the past 7 years....we know it will ALL be there when we go back. Our goal is not to do every ride in every park, and we're not trying to "maximize" our admission, since we're paying something like $20 a day, per adult, for admission. It's just a different mindset. We take a much slower pace for some trips.

So, yes....I can see situations where we'd spend 4+ hours (I think 6 is a bit high...the ONLY times we've spent 2 solid hours at a sit down place is at a character meal or Victoria and Albert's and I don't see us doing 3 combo's of those in one day) of our 12 hour day in a restaurant. You can't...great...that's not the way your family chooses to vacation.

Edit: OK, maybe we're broken. I keep seeing people saying that 3 TS meals will take you a minimum of 6 hours to get through at Disney. Why does it not take us much more than an hour to get throug dinner at most TS places. Only character meals and Victoria and Albert's have seen us at a table that long. And that's with (not at V&A's obviously) 3 little kids to contend with. And it's not like we're wolfing down our food, either.....

Weird. Guess it's just another one of those "different strokes".

Actually, no, I've never compared our weekends at home with a trip to WDW, but like you said, different strokes. Glad the way you tour works out great for ya'll.

Now, back to the other poster, in reference, she stated on another thread that she's never been to Walt Disney World, or even on a real vacation, so I hope that manner of touring works out as great for her as it does for you.

Hi!
No...you're not "broken" (:lmao: I love that!!) all I'm saying in regards to the average of 2 hours per meal thing is this:

-it's not ONLY how long you actually spend sitting at the table
- the time involved to just get to the restaurant...even within the same park. You have to 'stop' touring to say "okay...time to go so we can get to Blah Blah in time for our ADR"
- you're told to check in at least 15min before scheduled ADR
-then, you'll more than likely (it's been our annual experience anyways) have to wait for your table
sure, from the time you are seated to the time you're leaving...generally 1 hour to 1 1/2 hours...you have to consider it MAY take that long...slower service, waiting for bills, etc.
So...this is where I get the 2 hour time frame for each ADR. Too much time NOT 'doing' Disney, IMHO. :hippie:

Maybe that's where the difference is:

WITH an ADR, we don't usually wait all that long (even when checking in 15 min early). We have..but it's the exception, not the rule. BUT, we also tend to go to WDW during less busy times (September/October, early December, early January), so maybe that's why. We've not been during a free dining period, before (this September will be our first...and since my Mom and Step-dad are coming along for the ride, they've chose a more "commando" style trip), so that may be the difference.

I also suspect that we are "off dining time" people...because the restaurants always seem to start getting busy as we're either finishing up or walking out.

I'm crazy. I just booked us a cruise this morning, the Sept. 10, 2009 3-nighter, which meant I got to extend my time at Disney by a couple of days and add more ADRs. I really blame the online system for this. It is too easy and too fun. 4 days were just not going to be enough!

ADRs:

9/14: Boma 6:05pm
9/15: Beirgarten 12:05; Marrakesh 6:00pm
9/16: Hollywood & Vine 12:15; Rose & Crown 7:30pm (Illuminations!)
9/18: Akershus Princess Lunch 11:55; Crystal Palace 4:55pm (MNSSHP night)
9/19: Tusker House 8:00am; Chef Mickey's 5:10pm
9/20: CRT 8:30am

I'm trying some different things this time, like Boma. We're going in July as well and I have a ton of ADRs then, lol. Trying to branch out of our Tusker House/Crystal Palace comfort zone!

On the topic of 3 ADRs in one day...you know, I'd love to go to Disney one of these days and just have nice, leisurely meals and then stroll through the parks, maybe doing one or two rides! That sounds awesome. But, we go all the time, as Florida residents and AP holders. So, its easy for me to say that would be fun, since I can go back pretty easily. I'm not sure I'd want to do that if I couldn't return so readily, but to each their own. If you're at Disney, its all good!

Mine are finally settled (again)

09/13 ohanas for dinner
09/14 tonys for dinner
09/15 50's prime time/diner
09/16 lecellier for dinner
09/17 teppan edo/dinner
09/18 crystal palace early dinner before mnsshp

I had all my ADR's set up only to find Southwest flights at a better rate on different days so after getting up at 7:00am on Sunday morning I had to call back again today and guess what? I still got what I wanted. (although my difficult to get ADR's like 'Ohana overlapped dates thankfully) I guess free dining in September won't be as crowded as I thought, I was even able to change my dates at POP and get another two rooms.

9/8 The Plaza 5:00pm
9/9 Restaurant Marrekesh 12:00pm
9/11 San Angel 12:00pm
9/11 Garden Grill 7:20pm (had to call back on this one, had 5:50 for other dates)
9/12 'Ohana 6:45pm
9/13 Coral Reef 11:45am
9/13 Tuttio Italia 5:45pm
9/14 Yak and Yeti 12:00pm
9/16 Crystal Palace (goodbye for this time) breakfast

I know some of these places don't get the best reviews but we decided this trip we were going to try new places, Rest Marekkesh, San Angel, Ohana, Coral Reef, and Tuttio Italia are all new to us this time. Hopefully we will have a good experience!

I've switched some of mine around and now FINALLY I have all the times I want!

9/12 Crystal Palace - 8:15am
9/12 Chef Mickey - 5:30pm
9/13 50's Prime Time - 5:35pm
9/14 Tusker House - 10:25am
9/15 Coral Reef - 5:45pm
9/16 CRT - 8:05am
9/16 Ohana - 5pm

I have 50's Primetime at 4:10!!! Maybe we'll run into each other at the door!!! :lmao:;)

:woohoo:I made all of my ADRs this morning & got everything I wanted at close to the times I asked for & the only one I had to call on was tea at the Garden View Lounge as it wasn't offered online.

Here they are:
9/18 - Ohana @ 8:50
9/19 - 1900 Park Fare @ 4:55
9/20 - Yak & Yeti @ 4:45
9/21 - Akershus Princess Breakfast @ 8:25(OOP)
9/21 - WCC @ 7:30
9/22 - Tony's @ 6:45(MNSSHP night)
9/23 - tea at Garden View Lounge @ 2:00
9/23 - California Grill @ 7:10
9/25 - Coral Reef @ 1:00
9/26 - CRT Lunch @ 12:15(OOP as we had too many)
9/26 - Teppan Edo @ 6:50
9/27 - Rose & Crown @ 7:45(hope for an Illuminations view)

Now I just have to lose enough weight to make up for all that I'm going to gain after all this food.

We are a party of 9 and got all of ours except for BOMA! It wasn't too bad.

IF ANYONE IS GOING TO A RESTAURANT AROUND THE SAME TIME AS US, Please look me up or pm me so I can look for you too.

Ariel- It doesn't look like we have any ressie's at the same time :confused3. We we may see you at the resort.

OK so here is our ressie's:

9/22 OHANA breakfast 10:35 AM

I'll be looking out for ya!!!;)

Hey, we'll be at HDDR at the same time!

Here's a list of our ADRs:
9/15 T-Rex 7 pm
9/16 Chef Mickey 10:55 am
9/17 Crystal Palace 11:35 am
9/18 Sci-fi 11:25 am

9/20 Tepan Edo noon
9/21 Boma 5:40 pm
9/22 Biergarten noon
9/23 Whispering Canyon 11:45 am

We're doing mostly lunch because I'm worried my kiddos may be cranky and unwilling to sit nicely in a restaurant after a long day at the park or that we'll have to cut our rest time short to make an ADR. I know they'll sit nicely during lunch and we'll head straight from lunch to our resort for a rest, so it's a good way to start the wind down.

As an aside, I'm starting to worry about crowds when we're there... nearly everyone who's replied to this thread is going during the time we're there :scared1:!

I called on my 90 day and here is what I got. I actually called back and added a few and canceled California Grill bc we decided not to do this one this time, have eated there before.
