Whacked - Did you have an existing reservation or did you have to start over? My AAA TA said that we would have to cancel the old reservation and then make the new one. The old res is at POFQ for 7 nights 11/29 - 12/6 std view 2 adults, 1 child, 1 inf with base tickets and no dining (tho we were intending on adding that later). Anyway -

Well, it took some work but I think we got it. First off, HUGE thanks to Lanny at Disney Reservations. I was on the phone with her for over an hour trying different combos. For those that use a TA, I highly doubt they give that much of an effort. Yeah, they can apply codes to a package but only you know what will work out best for you.
OK, we had AAA room only rates for a 9 night split stay at POR standard and then AKL standard starting 11/24. I wanted the package so I could get the dining plan. When I called the first time there was no way to get AKL standard and they did not have POR available either. I tried back later to ask if I could just switch my existing room only to the package. That cant be done either. Lanny worked out a bunch of different combos and found that my arrival day of Thanksgiving was screwing up the availability. So, I ended up using my AAA rate for POR for just the first night 11/24, then going to a four day package with dining and an 8 day ticket then switching to AKL using my existing AAA discount. We will be arriving around dinner time on 11/24 and not planning on hitting a park so this works out fine with the tix. So, I got a better discount for the POR part, 4 days of the dining package (better than nothing) and got to keep my AKL standard room which is what I really wanted. All in all it is hard to tell how much I saved because of the dining variable but based on my calculations and what we would have spent on food, it is about $315.
Worth the effort!!

We've got Pop Century for 9 nights with YQE (so dining included) with 1 day base tickets (AP holders) for $1381.55.
We had previously done BRP for the same period for $792.90, but that was without dining. Well, we planned to do a sit-down meal a day (going out to dinner is a great relax/enjoy time together thing for us), so I think this will end up saving me a bunch of money- even with the lost deposit.

I was origionally booked at CSR, but with the discount I convinced my fiancee we could stay at POLY, my favorite resort! We're booked 9 nights in November, garden view, with 10 day MYW tickets w/park hopping and water park fun and more options for $3,259.92, which is $884.66 off rack rate!!!

It's better than the other (general public) codes, but they still have to have availability at the resort with your current reservation for the extra discount.

I asked about AKL and FWL (that isn't the right abbreviation, though is it?) since they are the cheapest 2 deluxes and they said that those two aren't available either. Does anyone know what might be available during that period?? My phone rep wasn't all that helpful.
And my AAA agent didn't seem to want to work on this at all and said that if anyone got add'l off the AAA rate, they were lying and just powint lies to this website. She said, "I spoke to a rep at Disney and they are so unhappy that people post lies to websites that get people like yourself so frustrated with incorrect information." I wanted to scream!!!

Hi Jen....
I'd be glad to see what I can find for you. Are you looking specifically for deluxes? Are your dates flexible? Are you willing to stay at two different resorts?
Can you be flexible with your dates? If so, how flexible?
The difficulty is that the dates right after Thanksgiving are busier this year than last year because the dates BEFORE thanksgiving last year were value season and now they are regular season. People have decided to wait until after Thanksgiving to go since the rack rates were cheaper and the resorts are more full.
By the way.... An AKL savannah view room is currently available for arrival on November 29 through December 3. December 4 and 5 are not available. That may be why you are running into trouble.
