Post Photos of Hotels Here...DLH, HoJo, BWPPI, DI&S, CCI...etc.

How did I ever miss this thread??? Great photos, everyone. This definately helps when planning a trip. Thanks!!

Pictures from the DLH this March:

We stayed in the Dreams Tower with a DTD View:

eck003.jpg

King Size Bed.....heavenly, but also elevated a bit from the floor. We're long legged but shorter people could have a problem getting up on it. Chocolates were left daily on it.

eck004.jpg

eck005.jpg

eck023.jpg

eck008.jpg

The room was very spacious with Disney touches thru-out. The bedspread was a pattern of Disneyland attractions, the wallpaper border along the ceiling would glow after dark with Tink's pixie dust, the lights in the bathroom being held to the wall by Mickey's hand, etc.

eck110.jpg

eck114.jpg

eck117.jpg

The Neverland Pool was huge & themed with Captain Hook's boat. There were 2 waterslides....a small short slide for little kids & a big long slides for the more adventurous. There is also a hot tub. The DLH also has 2 kiddie pools located over by the fitness center. The pools are 3' & 5' (I believe). There is also a beach area with volleyball net by these pools.

eck137.jpg

eck138.jpg

There are walls covered in Disney memorabilia & dignitaries/stars pictures in the main tower (where the lobby & check-in is).

eck162.jpg

eck169.jpg

The grounds are beautiful & we enjoyed watching the koi fish & waterfalls.

eck191.jpg

eck192.jpg

The remote controlled Jungle Cruise Boats are also fun to watch.

eck159.jpg

eck160.jpg

eck161.jpg

There are 3 restaurants at the DLH: Goofy's Kitchen, Hook's Pointe & Steakhouse55 (no pic) & also the Lost Bar for cocktails.

We thouroughly enjoyed our stay & recommend it highly for anyone that is a Disney-fan. Even if you don't stay here, you should schedule a little time to check out the memorabilia & grounds.....its fabulous!!!

We also stayed part of our March trip at the Tropicana Inn:

eck079.jpg

eck080.jpg

We like the location of this motel...very close to the crossing on Harbor Blvd to the entrance of Disneyland.

eck054.jpg

eck055.jpg

The rooms are standard sized rooms with 2 queen beds. Themed in tropical palm trees. The room was comfortable but bring your own pillows!!! The pool is dead center of the parking lot & we didn't make it down to try it out. There are 2 gift shops & a coffee/pizza place in this motel. We found it quiet & the management was friendly.

We'd have no problem staying here again in the future.

We made a return trip in April (last minute plans) & had to find a motel close to DL because none of the Good Neighbor Motels had vacancies (hit during the busiest part of spring break)

We found a motel using TripAdvisor as our guide. This motel had very good reviews & the price couldn't be beat. We stayed at America's Best Value-Astoria Inn & Suites. This motel is located one block off of Harbor Blvd on Ball. This worked out great since we were planning on using the Mickey & Friends Parking Garage.....it was right up the street.

eck6007.jpg

eck6004.jpg

eck6005.jpg

The pool was small (but so is the motel, so no biggie) but again we didn't try it out. The hot tub looked gross.....also a big reason we didn't try out the pool area.... yuk!

eck6088.jpg

eck6092.jpg

eck6091.jpg

The room was the standard 2 queen room with a large vanity area outside of the bathroom.

eck6089.jpg

eck6090.jpg

eck6093.jpg

eck6094.jpg

The room left something to be desired.....the carpets were stained & dingy looking but it wasn't until our baby was crawling around on the floor (for 15 minutes) that we realized just how filthy the carpet really was!!!!!

After realizing how dirty the room was we snapped these pictures to capture it in all it's glory!

eck8001.jpg

You could see daylight around the door.

eck8002.jpg

Burnt outlet....makes you feel all warm & fuzzy if you needed to plug stuff in.

eck8003.jpg

Built up goo in the bathroom........ I get chills just thinking about it!!!

We wrote a complaint to their corporation who passed on the complaint to the managers there. I also had complained to them in person & was told it was Disneyland's fault for the dirty carpets....... they've actually called Disney to complain about the fireworks & how it was making their motel dirty!!!! I thought, wow......we've never had this problem before at any of the other motels!!

This is what the managers wrote back to me:

I wanted to take a moment to formally apologize for the inconvenience of your stay with us two weekends ago. As I had explained to you, we have made many attempts to deal with our persistent carpet problems. Our carpets are shampooed and washed every month. As explained, the dirt you saw on your child’s socks and feet was from the Disneyland Fireworks residual which floats around in the air. This is most unfortunate and embarrassing for us when our guests convey their concerns. We have made many attempts in the past to bring this issue up with Disneyland Sales representatives, but have not succeeded in decreasing the problem. I was surprised to read from your complaint that there was no weather strips around your door – this is something I will surely look into with our maintenance, as well as taking care of some of the other issues you had taken pictures of.
As for us being the owners of this property, please allow me to inform you that our position here is that of “Resident Managers”. This means, we are offered the job to stay here and manage the hotel for the corporate owners – our incentive is not purely to collect money and show little or no concern for our guest’s comfort. We take these complaints very seriously, and try our very best to avoid future problems.
Once again, we apologize for the inconvenience and hope that this experience does not deter you from making future reservations with other properties around the United States. We do have a reputation to uphold, and will try our very best to repair the recent problems you encountered.

Thought I'd share this to pre-warn others to avoid this place. I did up a review on TripAdvisor with the above pics. This was the first time we'd encountered a motel in this condition when the reviews were so favorable.

I pretty much told America's Best Value corporate that I would never stay in one of their motels again. Beware.........

Anyone , got any more fairfield inn? there is the out side pics, but what of the insides ? :)

OMG! We are leaving tomorrow for Las Cruces and staying at the same hotel chain. It has great reviews on TripAdvisor as well...wow, now I am a little worried!

I hope you end up at one of the newer/nicer ones..... I can tell you we noticed a number of them on our last 2 trips & they all were run down looking..... except for the brand new one out by Knotts Berry Farm.

Will keep my fingers crossed that you have much better luck with your motel!!!!!!

:yay:Thanks for posting! If you ever find pictures of the room I would find that very helpful. (I'm sure others would too!) A picture speaks a thousand words, and all that jazz...:cool1:

There are pictures of our room from the Park Vue in my TR. Link is below.

My NDD1 room at HOJO. The beds were SOOOO comfortable! I loved the cathedral ceiling & skylights!

Spacermaid, is this the room that has the double beds as opposed to the Queen beds? Do you recall what building you were in? Was there a balcony?
Thanks!

I'll be heading back there in a few weeks, I'm planning on getting more photos then.

That patio area at the Park Vue Inn looks really nice! is that where the pool is too?

No, the hotel is U shaped. The breakfast patio area is upstairs on the tip of the top of the U, the pool is on the ground in the middle of the U. Surrounded by bushes and some such.

Hello - does anyone have pictures OR ANY INFO on the Anabella?
Thanks for any input!! ;)

post 25

I rarely hear of anyone staying there but not heard anything bad lately.
America's Best Value-Astoria Inn & Suites really got a scary bad review on post 186.

I too like the decor better at the Paradise Pier. I will be staying there in June. I've seen pictures of the Disneyland Hotel, and it looks nice, but the Paradise Pier is more my style. :hippie:
