*Akk the house is looking drab. There are little mini lights everywhere and snowflakes plus snowmen which totally help but that stuff is just plain white and snow is white so it's not quite enough. Picked up some hydrangea and pink carnations to make a bouquet which is pretty and splashing pink and purple flowers plus babys breath everywhere including little vases in bathrooms but I want more, it's just too much blah. I might just get some festive Mardi Gras masks for going into Lent. Anyone have any fun themes? Maybe I make an inviting but fussy hot chocolate station with bright mugs and such?

Also, how to make laundered holiday placemats that are clean but floppy crisp again? I was thinking maybe washing in heavy starch then ironing but last time I used that stuff everything was powdery and I abandoned the whole thing.

I have no fun themes, but January décor is always dull after we take down all of our Christmas décor. I lean into the cold/bleakness with branches and lots of blues and grays. We live in Texas, I have been debating doing a centerpiece with some faux antlers.

As far as the placemats go, I recommend spray starch and a hot iron. They never look as good as new, but they can look crispy again!
