Yes you can up to 10 minutes before the flight. You will be responsible for fare changes though so if the flight cost more points you would have to have those in your account to pay for it.We're about to book our first flight in two years. If I book with points, can we still change flights and the day we fly without any penalties? Thanks.
If you’re referring to the same day change benefit that comes with WGA+ and above, then yes, you can change day of without cost. It doesn’t matter if ticket was purchased with cash or points. We're about to book our first flight in two years. Yes, you can purchase tickets for others out of your RR account. My husband and I each have our own SWA accounts and I usually buy our tickets from those two separate accounts. I will soon have enough Rewards points to buy several tickets. Can I use my rewards points to purchase a ticket for my husband if I purchase them using my SWA account?
Thanks.![]()

I think you just get pushed back if you change to a different flight but not if you keep the same flight .A great price has come out to change/update our flight in 3 weeks. I know I will still keep my early bird check in but do I get pushed back inline because I changed, and potentially go from an A (made my flight ressie on opening day) to B or C because it's so close to flying? I think it would be B just because it is a significant price drop so close to leaving so I don't think the flight is near full. Thoughts on if I keep original seating placement? The search leads to really old info.

It will not change your position in line if you only change to take advantage of the price drop. The fact you are seeing price drops this close to departure means that flight isn't selling nearly as well as they expected.A great price has come out to change/update our flight in 3 weeks. Well, that's upsetting. I don't remember seeing anything about that benefit being capped, either.Question for those that have the SW credit card. I get 2 free EBCI a year...however when I just purchased it, they were $35 each but I only got a credit for $50 back. I couldn't find anything that stated its capped at a certain price only that you get 2 free a year.
Based on @TheOneWithTheTriplets posts I would send them a Secure Message to request the missing $20 credit.Question for those that have the SW credit card. I had time today to reach out to chase. She saw the credit should be $15-$99 per EBCI and didn't see why I didn't get the correct amount back. She submitted a ticket to the marketing team to review and I'll get a response in the mail. If it happened to me, I wonder if it's happening to more. This is the first time I was charged anything other than $25 for EBCI so I never looked that closely before.Well, that's upsetting. This is right off of their current T&C, no indication of a cap:
Southwest® EarlyBird Check-In®: Each anniversary year you will be reimbursed for the purchase of up to 2 EarlyBird Check-In services made with your Southwest Rapid Rewards® Premier Credit Card. Each EarlyBird Check-In service means a purchase made for EarlyBird Check-In one-way, per Passenger. Anniversary year means the year beginning with your account open date through the first statement date after your account open date anniversary, and the 12 monthly billing cycles after that each year. If you switch to this product from another Chase credit card, your account open date is the date the switch to the Southwest Rapid Rewards® Premier Credit Card is completed. EarlyBird Check-In provides automatic check-in before the traditional 24-hour check-in and can be purchased as part of the original flight purchase or added to a flight after purchase. Price of EarlyBird Check-In may vary. Statement credit(s) will post to your account the same day your purchase posts to your account and will appear on your monthly credit card billing statement within 1-2 billing cycles. Account must be open and not in default at the time the statement credit is posted to your account. Statement credits will be issued for the anniversary year in which the transaction posts to your account. For example, if you purchase EarlyBird Check-In and Southwest does not post the transaction until after your current anniversary year ends, the cost of the EarlyBird Check-In services will be allocated towards the following year’s maximum of 2 services. More information can be found at opens overlaySouthwest.com/early-bird.
Appreciate you sharing your experience. Our household is working on CPs for 2025-2026 so we will once again have that credit card benefit after a few years of not. I wonder if it was some programming adjustment that never got made as they adjusted first how much EBCI could cost and just how dynamic it is, meaning while there shouldn't be a cap it did cost less in the past and maybe the system isn't always programmed to just auto adjust as a statement credit what you paid. It's possible it could be affecting a lot of people if that were the case.I had time today to reach out to chase. I just had to do this when I broke my ankle and had surgery less than 2 weeks before my wine and dine 10k. I requested it at the check in counter. They even got my a wheelchair because I was still non-weight bearing at that point. SW was very nice about the situation.Could someone tell me how do you go about getting a Preboard for a medical reason? My husband broke his foot and will still be at least in a walking boot when we fly in a couple of weeks.
