Possible new plans for FLE?

Well put......I think we'd all like to see a really well thought out master plan than a piece-it-together as we go.

I agree completely. But, if anyone can do it, I'd bet on WDI---if management will allow them to create magic without restraints.

If they are really re-thinking and considering some type of D or E-ticket attraction in that area, there's no way it can go from concept to design to permitted to constructed by 2012.

Perhaps you assume a new idea must come from scratch. They have dozens of ideas already scoped out and prepped waiting on shelves they could pull down - old projects that were put on hold, ideas that were ahead of their time, borrow from another park around the world (they do that all teh time), etc. Far from starting from scratch, they could easily already be at the point where they just need to stick something in and start building.

WOW..thanks for the update!
I hope to God they do not have clowns roaming around the Dumbo area or there are going to be a lot of freaked out, screaming, crying kids and upset parents in that area or avoiding it altogether!

No problem no if you look at the picture and that huge section that says more Dumbo. I am mostly sure that most of that area will not be Dumbo. IMO there will be a wall behind Casey Jr. and they will use that land for future expansion.

Looking closer at those plans, are they planning to retain Pooh's Playful Spot, even after moving the tree? That's what it looks like here.

The "MORE DUMBO?" and "CASEY JR" labels just seem wrong to me. "MORE DUMBO?" would theoretically be where the rest of the "circus" stuff would be - more or less a rebuild of Toontown Fair. I wouldn't say "future expansion" as much as "fluid plans". to label it "MORE DUMBO?" seems foolish, unless they are calling the theme "Dumbo".

But a huge label placing a food cart and some merch? They could fit one or two attractions in that space.

That is one thing that I am not clear on but I have heard that Pooh Playground will stay to make a mini poohland.

There is also supposed to be a huge merch shop in the Dumbo section so maybe one of the tents is staying.

I don't think those are actual plans, but someone modifying the old leaked FLE plans to show what the rumor suggests might happen.

I am glad Pixie Hollow is gone. That had no draw for me. I love SWSA but I also know the line is usually very short and rarely have I seen it over 20 minutes. It is from Walt's first movie so that makes it very special but it also scares kids. The mine train sounds like fun.

I also think that Dumbo fits well where it is place in the photo. I hoped the barnstormer could be saved.

I'm not sure saying there will be a Snow White coaster is too bright either. Since the is a kid coaster just over from it and there is already a mine coaster in the park.

I'll withhold judgement, since we have way too little information to go on anyway, but my concern this could be yet another thrill ride which excludes too many people who tour the WDW parks daily (seniors, young children, those in poor health, us chickens...). A tame coaster-type ride, even if more like a dark ride than a roller coaster like Big Thunder Mountain, may exclude certain groups while also not appealing to those looking for more thrills in theme park attractions. A "thrilling dark ride" is probably much better (again, we just don't know yet), but this has commonly been referred to (on that other site, especially) as a "family coaster" - which is often a contradiction in terms.

It sounded like the tents were staying last week while we were at Imagineering. The big one will be the que for the Dumbo ride. You will be given a colored feather and will hang out in the air conditioned tent until your color is called. The three smaller tents will stay and become meet and greets for the Fab five characters. Pixie Hollow is dead according to the Imagineer that did our tour and some other changes are being made. We were told announcements should be made within the next few months. I can say that the larger scale models of the Beauty/Beast Castle with "Be Our Guest" restaurant and the Ariel/Little Mermaid area have been made and looked like they were approved and ready to go.

It is not going to be that thrilling the trills have been described as being somewhere in between Big Thunder Mountain and the Barnstormer. It will have lesser to medium thrills but greatly themed.

It is going to be more dark ride than coaster with D-ETicket theming.

Again, this sounds like a new ride or attraction, and not something that is on the shelf or a copy-cat (or even a modified copy-cat) af a ride from another park. If what you're hearing is true, this sounds like a new ride, requiring a lot of engineering, design, imagineering, etc.

Why not we aren't talking EE hear this will take no longer than TLM ride to build.

I agree it won't be done by 2012 (but the FL expansion could go well into 2013 at this rate), but I don't think we are talking about a copycat necessarily. Disney has piles and piles of plans completed to various stages of all sorts of things that they have just never pulled the trigger on. They could very will have a Snow White Mine Coaster (or an unthemed basic design) completely designed in a file somewhere that could have been done 20 years ago, sitting dormant. Dust off the plans, update to current technologies, and theme.

Or they could very well purchase an existing vendor design from Venkoma or whoever and just do the theming around it.

You CAN churn out a basic small coaster that fast.

It isn't really anything right now. It is, as we say in computers, "vaporware". They could change it any number of ways at this point, including throwing it back into the vault.
