These come from Lee over at Unmagical so take it or leave it.

OK.
After endless emails, pm's, and a couple phone calls, I'm gonna lay out what I see as happening with FLE. It hasn't been easy to get any info or confirmation. Lips are sealed pretty tight about the whole FLE v2.0.

I will update/modify it as needed, which hopefully won't be too much.

If anyone finds fault with it, feel free to chime in. (But keep it to facts or very good info. Let's leave opinion out of this thread.)

So here we go, based on a metric ton of rumor and good info:

FLE East will be almost entirely "Dumbo's Circus" themed. Double Dumbo ("Dumbo's Big Top"), rethemed Barnstormer (likely clowns), rethemed train station, Casey Jr food stand, and a fairly major merch location.

Tents will go due to their current condition being not all that good, but will likely be replaced by more tents.

Pixie Hollow (in all it's early concept forms) is dead.

FLE West will have the biggest change from the original plan.

Mermaid and BatB areas are proceeding as planned.

Cindy/Aurora M&G complex is dead.

The large space where they were going will in fact be the Snow White/Dwarf coaster/mine car ride.

Snow White's Scary Adventure will close, providing a home for the wayward princesses. This looks to possibly be a temporary move, perhaps using the recycled name of Fantasyland Character Festival.

This will allow them to have somewhere to do M&Gs while a new area is built, perhaps over in the old Skyway station spot. The SWSA show building would then be changed into a new attraction.

Tink and the Pixies....not sure.

EDIT: Chance the princesses may move in with Mick and Min on Main St for a bit while their new home is being prepared. Depends on the timeframe of how long they keep TTF open

Personally I Don't believe that Dumbo will be as big.

the Snow White/Dwarf coaster/mine car ride.

I haven't followed too closely all the rumors...knew that changes were being made, just not what might replace them. For the Snow white/Dwarf coaster, is that an actual roller coaster or just a "regular" dark ride themed to a mine car. I think either would be great, but as someone that grew up not far from Cedar Point, I could always see a bit more thrill come to The World.

Hybrid like the Mummy I think part coaster part dark ride.

The circus theme coincides with what DISers were told on the ABD trip by the Imagineers.

Dropping the mine coaster/dark ride in the middle like that seems interesting, and complex.

I've always thought of "Fantasyland West" as being from Dumbo on. I guess what I've considered "East" could now be "Central"...

Are we talking E-ticket thrills here or just a souped up/faster Scary Adventures?

I would just like to say to all of you haters that this is even more prrof that PH is dead, dead, and yes dead!!!! :thumbsup2

I hope they keep both Snow White's Scary Adventure and the new Seven Dwarfs Mine Ride roller coaster. As cool as the new coaster would be, I don't want to lose Scary Adventure!

If this coaster is build SA is 100% going to leave and will be the new temporary hom of the Princess M&G.

Maybe they can bring back Mr. Toad's Wild Ride in the SWSA building.

While I would love it that won't happen. if the SW coaster is built the current ride spcae will be used for Princess M&G's since the Cindy & SB M&G's are gone.

Yeah, but I thought that the conjecture there was that it would be a temporary move.

Some form of dark ride would move in there -- later -- and why not bring back the old classic?

TDO and temporary means at leats a decade. :lmao: I don't expect it to be permanent butI still don't think Toad will replace it.

As much as many of us would love to see Toad's Wild Ride again I just don't think in general, bringing back a nostalgic ride makes sense long-term for Disney.

Having two older boys, I'm glad Disney re-thought the over-the-top girl/fairy/princess theme, but is a "circus" theme consistent with Fantasyland?

At least with the first concept, the proposed wall that separated the inner castle area vs. the "forest/outdoor" area seemed to make sense and provide some flow to the design. Other than Dumbo, how does a circus theme fit into Fantasyland? Does the wall still make sense now if they really are moving to this circus/Dumbo/thrill ride concept?

I really hope Disney takes their time (within reason) to come up with a good plan as opposed to hastily throwing something together for a 40-year celebration and to compete against WWOHP. I already see Disney as kind of botching the handling of this whole FL expansion - from the leaked photos/concept art, to the over-embracing of pixies and fairies, to the over-selling of princesses to girls while leaving out boys, to halted plans, to not having a response to WWOHP, etc.

I disagree with botching. Actually, better to get details leaked or released and figure out what feedback is from the public before all your dollars are spent.

I'm a fairly new WDW fan and have never seen or heard of Mr. Toad except on forums. The idea of it coming back does NOTHING for me or anyone in my family (yes, we talk about this stuff:thumbsup2). A trackless dark ride based on a more "mainstream," Fantasyland type franchise sounds a lot better than a "classic." Maybe Princess Midway Mania?!?:rotfl2:

I agree it's better to have some feedback before the money is spent, so I guess you could say the leaked plans weren't that big of a botch. The bigger botch was that they got ahead of themselves, had wrong marketing data and now look like an indecisive company.

I want the FL expansion to be amazing, hopefully it will be, whether it incorporates clowns, circus atmosphere, fairies, pixies, whatever. But the way they're going about it doesn't lead me to believe they have a full, congruent master plan in place to execute. When you move forward with certain portions of a project and haven't taken into account all the elements, inevitably something will be missed or be out of place, or have to be re-worked. How long did 20KLUTS sit there with space unused and no plans? The skyway building in TL was only revamped in the last year after sitting there empty for years.... When you don't have a plan, it becomes real easy to keep putting it off for later.

If they are really re-thinking and considering some type of D or E-ticket attraction in that area, there's no way it can go from concept to design to permitted to constructed by 2012.

Well put......I think we'd all like to see a really well thought out master plan than a piece-it-together as we go.
