Possible new plans for FLE?

I am wondering why they do not plan a special cottage area for Snow White. I also would be curious to know why she is not with the rest of the princesses in the meet and greet area. Snow White is such a classic and I feel needs more exposure in MK.

That's a fair question. I notice that little girls in the princess outfits don't pick SW as often as other princesses but there is still a fair amount.

Outside the parks I see more adults, now that it's Halloween, dressed as SW than any other princess.

It is an interesting question. She does make various appearances, but certainly isn't featured like the others. Even in the original FL expansion plans, Ariel, Belle, Aurora and Cinderella got M&G areas, but Snow White didn't. And Snow White is the original princess...however, she was the only one to have he own ride (aside from what was previously Cinderella's Carousel...)

Speculation, but I wonder if it has to do with 1) That Snow White is the "oldest" of the princesses, and/or 2) She might be seen as less glamorous, not having been portrayed in a ball gown, etc.

It sounded like the tents were staying last week while we were at Imagineering. The big one will be the que for the Dumbo ride. You will be given a colored feather and will hang out in the air conditioned tent until your color is called. The three smaller tents will stay and become meet and greets for the Fab five characters. Pixie Hollow is dead according to the Imagineer that did our tour and some other changes are being made. We were told announcements should be made within the next few months. I can say that the larger scale models of the Beauty/Beast Castle with "Be Our Guest" restaurant and the Ariel/Little Mermaid area have been made and looked like they were approved and ready to go.

I was surprised to hear the tents are staying. From the official renderings and everything else out there it looked like Dueling Dumbos was moving next to Barnstormer and Tomorrowland speedway. That would be across the street from the current tents. (which are pretty old) Are they moving the tents?
Also, I thought the fab 5 were moving to Town Square Exposition Hall on Main Street because guests complain they have to walk too far into the park to meet Mickey. Arn't they currently making the upgrades for the characters down there.

Joining the conversation late, but wanted to add my .02

I think it makes such good sense to get rid of SWSA (Even though my son and wife and I love it very much) and put a princess M&G there...after all, it's in the shadow of Cinderella Castle, and the story could easily be that they are visiting Cindy herself.

Glad Pixie Hollow was nixed...only because it seems like theming to Pixie Hollow would be akin to theming to Tale Spin or Duck Tales. It'll be dated quickly, even though the main character is timeless.

Someone said they don't care what theme it is, as long as it is carried through. I agree. Who would have thought that the new Tomorrowland would have been as great as it is...but even with a few hiccups, it's still a great land. Let's hope they can bring that magic to FLE.

I hope they are wrong about Snow White Scary Adventure. Thats a classic ride and it would suck to lose yet another one.

These come from Lee over at Unmagical so take it or leave it.

OK.
After endless emails, pm's, and a couple phone calls, I'm gonna lay out what I see as happening with FLE. It hasn't been easy to get any info or confirmation. Lips are sealed pretty tight about the whole FLE v2.0.

I will update/modify it as needed, which hopefully won't be too much.

If anyone finds fault with it, feel free to chime in. (But keep it to facts or very good info. Let's leave opinion out of this thread.)

So here we go, based on a metric ton of rumor and good info:

FLE East will be almost entirely "Dumbo's Circus" themed. Double Dumbo ("Dumbo's Big Top"), rethemed Barnstormer (likely clowns), rethemed train station, Casey Jr food stand, and a fairly major merch location.

Tents will go due to their current condition being not all that good, but will likely be replaced by more tents.

Pixie Hollow (in all it's early concept forms) is dead.

FLE West will have the biggest change from the original plan.

Mermaid and BatB areas are proceeding as planned.

Cindy/Aurora M&G complex is dead.

The large space where they were going will in fact be the Snow White/Dwarf coaster/mine car ride.

Snow White's Scary Adventure will close, providing a home for the wayward princesses. This looks to possibly be a temporary move, perhaps using the recycled name of Fantasyland Character Festival.

This will allow them to have somewhere to do M&Gs while a new area is built, perhaps over in the old Skyway station spot. The SWSA show building would then be changed into a new attraction.

Tink and the Pixies....not sure.

EDIT: Chance the princesses may move in with Mick and Min on Main St for a bit while their new home is being prepared. Depends on the timeframe of how long they keep TTF open

Personally I Don't believe that Dumbo will be as big.

IMO, Disney is missing out on something that would unite the princess theme WITH the desire to appeal to a broader base - Prince Phillip!

He SLAYS A FREAKING DRAGON for goodness sakes! Where's my dragon slaying adventure ride? They could add Aurora and the 3 good fairies to it, but you can't tell me that wouldn't appeal to little boys. Dragons are one of the hottest things right now, but they're also timeless.

I think an approach and use of technology similar to the "Spider-Man" ride at Universal's IOA could recreate Phillip's escape from Melificent's castle, hacking through the thorns and finally, his battle with her as the dragon amazingly! It might be too intense for some visitors, but it would draw ride junkies in a major way and as you mentioned, it would incorporate a "Princess" movie while actually being aimed at both boys and the more adventurous girls.
