Possible good news for offsiters and FP+

Haven't read through all of this, sorry.... But here is my current info/status..

We are offsite and have many ADR's booked for end of May beg of June... had the lock symbol on the fp+page with no dates listed...

JUST added our UCT tickets and it NOW says I can begin making our fp+ ressies on March 27th , which is exactly 60 days from our first ADR... so there is definitely something linked/triggered by ADRS... will have to see how plays out and what happens at end of March! VERY VERY happy if this is true ;)

I have ADR but no linked tickets on my real MDE account and can see the message - now says April 11 for my March 1 trip (for those of us with pre-Aprli plans, it has oddly been increasing a day each day). I created another account to test to see what happens with an ADR for April 8 but am not getting the "You may begin making FastPass+ selections" method at all on that account. So I think they must be running a test on only some accounts.

Staying offsite. First ADR is March 1st. Tickets linked to my MDE account. I am getting the message saying I can making selections on April 11th...which has changed the last 3 days from the 8th, to the 9th, then 10th yesterday....

I am going March 15th and my account says you can make fast pass + selections April 11th. Weird. I was hoping to be able to make selections for our March trip.

Big Thanks to Patty57 who linked me to this thread! :goodvibes

I have a stay at Dolphin for May 5-10. I have ADR's in my MDE. I went thru the process of linking everyone and now have the status that I am 90 days out and can lock in FP+ choices 60 days out but no specific date. I do not have any tickets linked yet.

I had planned to buy my tix from UCT and link them and see what happens.

Three questions:
1) does anyone have any idea if the FP+ choices for off site will include BOG lunch FP?

2) curious why disney allows UCT to be an authorized ticket seller and let us link our tickets and such? what is the advantage to disney since UCT sells at a discount? I have bought from UCT in the past and had no problems.

3)am I remembering correctly that there never was any kind of FP during emh and is that the same with FP+? Only available during regular park hours?

Thanks!

I still think it is a long time to have a glitch that big, but I would agree with you that is was still a possibility based on how horrible WDW is with their technology. The reason I think they will be able to prebook soon is b/c it says so on the website. Now I know that has been there for a long time, but why would they have that written in if that wasn't the ultimate goal? So combine both and I just would think it would make sense it would be happening soon. I would also guess they would want to do it sooner rather than later b/c the busy season is coming and long kiosk lines will leave a bad taste in peoples mouths.

I can't remember the day it is supposed to open...the 7th, I think? Either way it is soon so we will know glitch or not.

I actually I was thinking about how the opening dates keep moving -- which in and of itself seems glitchy. But yeah, it could be showing some off-site guests as eligible who actually aren't.

FWIW: My date has been Feb 19 and hasn't moved since it first came on. (First ADR is April 20)

So like all things at WDW, some people have glitches and some don't... or do they? you won't know til Feb 19 I guess.

Much like us and ME -- sometimes there is no problem. This year we're awaiting arrival of our third package (for our trip next week). Let's see if they can get it right this time :cool1:

I have yet to notice that BOG lunch is actually part of FP+ proper yet. Last I knew it was still an independent thing.

Same as all the other authorized ticket sellers. They have always existed, and if Disney decided to make them somehow not equivalent, people would stop buying from the authorized sellers, and they'd stop selling the tickets.

Why does Disney do it? There are a variety of business reasons to allow it - not sure which ones Disney might actually care about. But in general it's good business practice. Off the top of my head, one of them is that even at a discount, Disney gets the money for the tickets sooner and in bulk for less effort on their part than selling the equivalent number of tickets one at a time to guests directly.

No, FP was used occasionally during evening EMH and almost always with morning EMH.

This. You could always grab your fp during EMH for use later in the day. And there was no cut-off. People could return with the paper fp up til the end of EMH, but this was only necessary for rides like TSMM. But they did cover the machines when fp was no longer necessary for an attraction. Fp- was never available for every attraction for every day that the park was open -- only when it was necessary.

What Does ADR stand for ? If it stand for dinning reservations do they have to be in the parks to trigger the off site book fast pass + or can chef mickey or 1900 park fair work to?

Advanced Dining Reservation.

I think at this point, we don't KNOW that it really does anything. Only that it appears to change what is displayed on the site. :)

We are going in March. Our date for passes showed cannot book until April 11th. As soon as I linked previously bought tickets from UTC I could then get my fast passes immediately.

We have APs that stay offsite. We are going this month and again in April. I have an ADR for April. On MDE it says I can book FP+ on April 11, that's only 10 days before my trip!!!
I thought it would be sooner than that. ??????
Has this happened to anyone else??

Has ANYONE been able to actually make a FP+ reservation who is staying offsite but has tickets and ADRs registered?

I really don't think this is live yet, and I'm questioning whether any of what is being seen is really meant to be seen yet.

The report I saw about offsite guests getting to purchase MBs and make FP+ indicated that it won't start until March. So it is entirely possible that even if you ARE within the 60 day window now, you can't do it, because it hasn't been turned on yet.

I second this question. Lots of talk, but I can't remember anyone saying that they've actually done it.

I will let you know at midnight.

I have tickets linked for a stay a split night stay at the BC/Dolphin May 31-June 6. Although I do have a qualifying on-site stay, I don't think this has any bearing on my ability to book FP+ starting on Feb 6, which is what my MDE is telling me now when I click on "make selections".

I put in a number of bogus dinner reservations in April, working backwards from April 11th. The date that I could first book FP+ on MDE, let's call this the "booking date", reflected 60 days out from the bogus reservation until I tried to reserve April 6th. At that point, the "booking date" changed to April 11th. When I deleted the ADR for April 6, the booking date changed back to Feb 6th, where it is now.

It's unknown if tonight at midnight I will have the ability to book FP+, or will it change again to a later date (April 11th).

Stay tuned. Will try to post tonight...
