I'm looking for an inexpensive but good quality portable dvd for the kids for Christmas.

I'm thinking of spending around 150, give or take. I want something sturdy yet light. It is for DD5 and DS3.

Thanks!

we got ours at Sam's Club last year at Christmas . We decided to go ahead and get the player and the extra screen it was right around 300.00, dd11 says she can't watch while the car is moving-:confused3 so I watch it in the front seat, it has come in handy for dh as he watches it at the ice rink alot! :goodvibes

If you have a BJ's Wholesale near you:

My mom just bought 2 Audiovox, 7" portable DVD players with 2 sets of headphones each for $139. My DS is getting one (he's 8) and his 6 year old cousin is getting the other from 'Nana Claus' this year for Christmas.

They are having a sale at Toys R Us right now for $110...including the attachment where you can set it up on the back of the front seats of the car.

My brother bought one last christmas at Best Buy for around 150, it is a polaroid.

He used it all spring when he studied abroad in spain as he only television (so he used it nonestop pretty much!), and now he has it hooked up to his tv back home, and uses the dvd player with his larger tv.

We borrowed it last week for the flight and the drive to the airport, also used it in the hotel room to watch dvds.

It was a great investment. I would highly recommend getting one.

Be careful to check the sound quality when you get it home. I bought one last year and didn't find one with acceptable volume and quality of sound until I tried 5 different brands. Of course, ea. new model a brand comes out with has a different quality. The one that came out like mine, but newer model looked and sounded cheaper. May cost cutting? :confused3

I bought one at Toys R Us this week with a 7 in screen for 119.00 plus you get a free dvd up to 19.99 for free. It looked like a good one, I hope so it is for Christmas.

I bought two memorex on clearance at target last spring for $125. We used both of them on our 16 hour drive to WDW this summer and were very happy.
