portable dvd bargain?

well, I looked on amazon.com for portable dvd player,I found one for around 120... but then they had it in the 'new and used' option for 13.00! This was advertised as brand new from factory,same thing, but for 13.00,there was another person with the same for 11.00-I ordered one,they had a good seller rating, anyone experienced in this? is it too good to be true?

Ooo, I would be skeptical. I'd contact them and make sure it wasn't for some sort of accessory for the player, and maybe Amazon got the link wrong??

Yeah, I think I'll call later today,and check on it, but 2 different sellers were advertising this, factory sealed! I am skeptical, but it's $20 total, so worth maybe a shot? Just a plain old brand, nothing fancy at all- just go to Amazon and start looking, the links are there... they did have good rating too, like hundreds....

Sorry guys, i haven't been around to check in here for a few days...I looked today,and the link is gone, it must have been a mistake, and now I wish I'd known that, b/c I would've ordered a bunch as gifts...I just assumed it was a normal thing...Anyway, sorry I havn't gotten back here till now, the brand was Avayon,it was 7" but now it's appearing as all 168.88......
Ok, now I wait to see if I get what I ordered,and wish like **** that I had ordered 20! If I see anything like this again, I'll post..I'd read another thread where people find these things, but I never have before now...

This isn't in actual response to your question but a guy I know wanted a DVD player and was at Walmart. He saw the same one at another store and asked if they price match and of course they do. So he had them call a number (which was actually to his friend waiting for the call with all the info like model number, price, etc.) and the Walmart clerk price matched (theirs was selling for $119 and he got it for $79). I think it was terrible he did that and couldn't believe the store didn't call the other store direct instead of just calling on his cell phone. Needless to say, we're not speaking lol

I would recommend that before you buy any portable dvd player that you actually view a dvd on them in person at the store before ordering, even if you eventually order online. The difference in picture quality between brands is really amazing. Some are pretty terrible.

To the OP - is it possible that the players you ordered were reconditioned models and not really new?
