Port upgrades for concierge

I'm currently booked into a 1-story royal suite on the Destiny to sail next Monday (1/12) out of Fort Lauderdale. The 2-story suite is still available. I know that we can arrive at the port at 10:30a. Will the service desk that performs the upgrades be open at that point? I want to maximize my chances.

Of course I can upgrade now and I'm (relatively) willing to pay the difference. However, the insurance alone adds $2200; that's madness!

I like the layout of the 1-story suite better than the 2-story. However, that distance from the concierge lounge (we're lounge hitters) and other forward activities are giving me pause.

If they are doing upgrades, the desk should be open. You need to check-in first and then ask about upgrades.

The supervisor desk was open and available when we arrived (right before 11a) for our Dec 16 Destiny sailing. However, when we inquired about an upgrade, the price we were quoted reflected a minimal discount. Like, three or four percent minimal. Others on our sailing reported the same thing. One of the people who inquired was told that discounts for concierge port upgrades would be very minimal during the "initial season." But best of luck in getting what you're hoping for!
