If I stay at the Raddison at the port the night before my cruise what is the best way to get to the port the next day. I want to get to the port as early as possible when the port opens.

For those of you who have stay at the Raddison night before the cruise how did you get to the port?

I will be driving down to Florida from my home state North Carolina. I have heard so negative comments about the free shuttle the Raddison offers.

Any advice or suggestions

Well, if you have your own car your best bet is to drive to the port and park there, $15.00 per day. You can get there as early as you want. Or, you could leave your car at the Radisson and just take a taxi to the port if you did not want to take the shuttle.

Do you know how much the taxi cost to the port?

First, you can do the Radisson shuttle for free. Make your shuttle reservations at any time by calling that hotel directly. Leaving a car at the hotel during your cruise is free. If you can't get the 10:00 shuttle, you can drive the family over at 10 (they can check in for you), drive back to the Radisson to park, and take whatever shuttle time you could get. It's a lot easier to get a spot for ONE person than for a family. While this sounds like a lot of hassle, it's really only about a mile from the Radisson to the port, and it isn't a big deal. Just remember to keep your driver's license with the driver so you can get into the terminal!

Taxi is about $25. Seems really steep for a short ride!

If you have a rental car that you are returning, you can take the gang to the port and then have the driver return the car...or take the gang with you to return the car--in either case, the shuttle from the car place to the terminal is free.

Obviously, you can also choose to take your car to the port and pay $15 per night for parking.

We were very happy with the Radisson shuttle. We had an 11:00 time and actually left early as everyone was on board. They were running 2 shuttles when we got back, so there was relatively little waiting and the driver took us all the way to our car (you leave your car in the back lot for the cruise). I've read of people having long waits for the shuttle on the return--don't know why they had issues on those days. For us, it worked well both ways. They do pick up from Carnival before they head over to Disney on disembarkation days, but there was room for us on the first shuttle and we waited less than 10 minutes.
