Want to return to WDW in January 2003. Have not stayed at Port Orleans Riverside yet but would love to. Is it open? Hadn't it closed for a while? We have annual passes that we just got at the end of January & have yet to receive any mailings from it. Hope to get a good rate there. Any thoughts?

[Have stayed at Grosvenor, Grand Floridian, Shades of Green].

Riverside did not completely close. The mansion section was closed for a while, but everything has now reopened. From what I saw a couple of weeks ago and from what folks are reporting, the crowds are returning to Disney. In fact, the last weekend in April most of the resorts are almost at capacity per CRO! POR is a great resort! There are the mansion and bayou sections which have identical rooms, but different theming. The resort is lushly landscaped, food is good, there are 6 pools, bike rentals, boat rentals. Transportation is by boat to Downtown Disney and by bus everywhere else. One caveat, weather in January can be dicey. I know you will have a wonderful time! :)

Port Orleans-French Quarter is closed, Port Orleans-Riverside is fully open. ~:)~

POR is our favorite moderate resort. It's very beautiful and relaxing. The boat ride to DD is nice at night. We prefer the mansions but the bayou section is also nice.
