Just booked my stay for next year at POR. 1 year out isn't too early to book, is it? ;)

I just booked a standard Room for 4.

My preference is to be in a room that isn't too far from the Bus Stop. But we also go swimming at the main pool every night....so I don't want to be too far from the main pool.

I can go either way....but which Building do you recommend for a room with a Standard View?

It really makes more sense to just ask for what you want - close to a bus stop and the main pool - than to ask for a specific building.

There's been a few changes in the food court! Instead of personal sized pepperoni or cheese pizzas they have four different kinds of flat breads now. There's a few new sandwiches and a kids create your own salad. There's a new burger and a fish and chips basket. A few new vegetarian options, too!

It is about time! I wonder when we will get updated menus on AllEars?

ETA: It looks like there are some new items on the MDE menus! I am trying to remember what was already there...

AllEars gets their menus from readers; it will be updated when a reader sends in the info.

And when they get around to it. It took months to get an update to a Disneyland restaurant after I submitted it. And the menu had been different for months by the time I submitted it. Painful.

I'm sure this has been brought up before, but it's a huge thread. I booked our POR room through Expedia instead of Disney. Kinda regretting it now because of the ease of possible upgrades through the Mouse instead. We have a Garden View room right now, and I Checked-in last night. But I called Disney and asked if it would be possible to move to the Preferred or Royal rooms. They said I would need to have Expedia add it to the itinerary that I placed through them instead, or wait till onsite. I have no problem paying for a room upgrade, but has anyone ever been able to accomplish this if you didn't book through Disney? Yeah, I saved some money, but lesson learned.

Thanks for any input!

Well okay! Maybe it will be faster if someone on this thread takes pictures of the menus. lol I went on MDE, but they don't have any descriptions, just titles! Plus, I was so focused on pre and post race food when I was there last, I didn't really study everything. I can't remember wheat was already there!

About an hour ago, I was the crazy girl in the lobby who walked into the column by the concierge desk. Just in case any of y'all were in the POR lobby about that time and witnessed the epicness of it. Smack into the column, bounce off and back into the concierge desk. Everyone laughed and I took a bow. So if you saw it....you're welcome for the awesome story to take home! ;-)

Glad your ok! Sometimes Disney can do this to people, make them so happy and loopy we do some pretty interesting things! I work here so I know.

Yep, totally fine. Thanks! My ego might twinge in the morning...wait, you work here at POR?

Cause if you do and you hear someone telling that story in the break room, or wherever, now you can be like, yeah, I know who that was! Haha! :-)

I guess we all have our moments! Sorry you were actually hurt though. :-(

Oh yeah! It was my last night at least. I did still trek clear across the park to ride Indiana Jones one more time before I hit first aid. Priorities, right?

Not at POR. I am behind the scenes mostly with deluxes. I have an addiction/first love with POR. It was the first resort I stayed at, well POFQ/POR. I frequent POR for personal love for the resort.

Just caught up with the thread, having spent the last week in Disneyland and San Francisco, and am now here at POR for another week in a lovely River View room in AB #14 (might stream some video over the next few days, Wi-Fi allowing). I think most questions have been answered in my absence, thanks folks.

I did that today for lunch & dinner, will do breakfast in the morning, and update my site as soon as I get a chance (which might not be while I'm still here, as we're making the most of the vacation time and the family might take a dim view of me spending hours editing the website too).

I'm here all week folks! Don't forget to tip your waitresses! ;-) lol!!

Trip or tip? :)

Andre

Great! Thanks, Andre!

I've searched the thread but haven't found the answer to my question.

We are a family of 6. 2 adults, 11yo, 10yo, 9yo, 2 yo. I was thinking of booking at POR for our May trip.

What I am wondering is how tight it really will be with 6 in the room. The 2yo will sleep with me and DH. He already smashes himself into our queen bed here at home so there won't be the issue of needing a pack and play. My daughters don't mind sleeping together either. I'm more concerned about storing our luggage and a stroller.

It will save us around $800 over staying at AOA suites and that's a lot of money for our family.

Please give me your advice :)
