My reservation on my Disney experience say resort POR and room type it says Riverside-Garden View.

Yeah so your at Port Orleans Riverside in a Garden View Room. That is what that means.

Quick update :0) My fired TA kept her word I have the gift card from her ♥ The owner of the agency mailed me the mickey mail but I still dont have it, Saturday is the last mail day. I have come to terms that we may not get it and I get its unnecessary lol I guess I cant sweat the small stuff! What I can do is leave the agency a honest review Thanks for letting me vent and I can not WAIT for our first POR stay! Fingers crossed the weather warms up more

Good I am glad to hear that.

You need to get on the phone with them and state you have three days before your supposed to be there and Still nothing. They have within their power to over night you what you need. I know because I have heard cases where they have done that.

I don't use TAs anymore. Sorry for that mess.

Does anyone know if they have a toaster or microwave in the food court that I can use to heat food brought from home. Thinking of breakfast items that might need toasting.

I know you can put in a request for a microwave for your room if you'd like. There is no additional charge it is just first come first served. But you can also request at check in also and each day until you get one. But most likely if you call the call center they can add that to your notes for you.

Venom us correct, they can send overnight. I hope you don't experience what I did, a few years ago, I used a highly recommended agency. The problem is that I leave for Florida a couple of weeks before I end up in wdw. TA sent packet express,but on our last day home, I spent the entire day tracking it. For some reason the driver never delivered it, and I had to go down to the depot and wait for truck to get in, to retrieve packet. Grrrr!

I still use a TA from time to time, but a different one. And if I'm leaving home 10 or so dsys before wdw, I ask to have packet sent directly to my wdw resort. Lesson learned!

Which section should I request? AB or mansions? Never stayed here before usually stay at POFQ. Want to be near food court. We are from Louisiana so this resort will feel like home.

Well you could request AB but the closest buildings there are preferred so you wouldn't get too close. I would say AB area buildings 16 or 17 you'd be very happy but that is just my preference. That would put you close without being in the preferred area.

Thank you! I see those buildings on the map. So mansions are far away from the food court I'm gathering. I like how the rooms look in the mansions better than AB. Maybe I will just see what happens with roon assignments. I asked for either and ground floor.

AB river view building 14 is probably the closest to the main building. I could see the main building from my room.

But building 14 is a preferred building and she would have to pay extra for that building. 16 is the closest without paying more money.

I like the mansions, it is a personal pref which theming you like better. I always request a location near the Old Man Island Bridge and IMO it's pretty close to food court, and also the (north or east) bus depot depending on if you're in Acadian or Magnolia. You just walk over bridge going around left side of pool, over another short foot bridge and your there.

Yes they do, both toasters and microwaves are available in the food court.

The mansion buildings - which are quite large - are on the other side of the river, so some of the rooms can be a bit of a distance, but that said some of them are also very close to the footbridges which lead over to the main buildings, so if you get those then the walk can actually be slightly shorter than even from some of the Preferred Location rooms.

Preferred Location walks to the food court vary from 55 yards to about 250 yards, while the mansion building walks (across the footbridges) start at around 245 yards. The maximum room distances from anywhere are about 500 yards for the mansion buildings, and just under 600 yards for Alligator Bayou. I think I requested the Magnolia building or AB. I think after reading everyone's responses I want Magnolia near the footbridge but I guess I will find out where we are placed in 90 days.

We have been to DW many times but never at Port Orleans. I am traveling with 4 boys all age 12(go ahead and shoot me now). Is there a building or location that would be better for us?
