Thanks that makes me feel better! Like i said...I hate standing on those buses especially with a small child. Alot of men don't give their seats up for women and children...unfortunately

I tell you what if I saw someone get on with a child or elderly, I always give my seat up for them. Its just the right thing to do.

Arrived at POR today. It is everything we expected, and then some. Booked a Royal Guest Room, garden view...got Oak Manor. Requested top floor, corner room (two windows)...got 'em. Opened up the cabinet for the refrigerator...refrigerator inside! DD, DW, and I got some decent food at Riverside Mill...CYOP station was busy but it was delicious (penne pasta w/ pesto and shrimp), DW had a good but not great Cajun chicken sandwich, and even DD's mac and cheese looked good! So far, Magic Bands have worked flawlessly. RFID mugs are working nicely as well. And finally, the grounds are beautiful from what we've seen.

Tomorrow is MK day 1.

Magical, I tell you. Simply magical!

I never heard anyone walking above my room.

That is one of the reasons we also prefer and request upper floor.

Keep in mind that some of the coveted corner rooms are kings though, so may not work for you.

We were on the lower floor since we had a stroller and didn't want to lug it up the stairs. We never heard anyone in the room upstairs either, except for an occasional toilet flush- which was very muted. I was very impressed with how "thick" the walls were. We could barely hear the people in the connecting room to ours. We were there from Sun to Fri and only had a couple of instances where the wait for the bus was more than 10 minutes, and one of those was after the fireworks at MK- so it wasn't totally unexpected. We saw multiple people offering to give up their seats for people with babies, children, and older people. And it was men, women, and older kids offering. I was truly impressed with it. Our room was right along the main path to the food court, and only a few times did we even hear anyone out there- and we were in bed by 9pm most nights!

I can't wait! We will be checking in to POR in 86 days. . I went to Florida last week to visit my parents and decided to check out the resort "on my way" to the airport heading home. I spent some time checking out the food court, general store and walking around the resort. I love the look of the mansions but because we have 5 will be in AB. I was thrilled to find that I loved those as well! Gorgeous setting. I can't wait to take the kids.

Same here! Though I should note that a good stretch of rooms surrounding us were all king rooms. Not sure if that would make a difference.

We did something similiar. Last summer, before our cruise, we stayed one night at POR, to check it out for a future stay. Little did I know we'd be back so soon! 76 days to go!

Seeing a lot of bad reviews about the buses I want to be in the royal room for my daughter, but not if the buses will be full everytime they get the the south depot

They're not bad. At the South Depot we always got a seat, except for MK. When we went to MK, we always got the bus at the depot closest to Parterre (which is North? I don't remember) and we always got a seat but it filled up at South.
