I believe the boats to DTD starts at 11:00 AM, correct? What about the buses...what time do they start running to DTD?

Boats start at 10am. Buses much earlier (as they service Typhoon Lagoon too).

They don't stop your charging at $1,000. They just charge the amount to your card whenever you reach $1000 right, and then you start over again? We are traveling with family who is treating for the trip. Would be upsetting if they cut us off and we were relying on charging in the parks or at a meal. I hope you don't get cut off or have to go to the desk since there willbe 6 people eating on one room charge.

Thsi depends. twice we have had to get on the phone with the resort while trying to make a purchase and we had hit the limit..we had to push the charges through to reset our limit. Now we go down half way through our trip and push through the charges so we dont have to deal with it when we are in the parks.

Hi, sorry if these questions have been asked before but we are staying at a Royal room in 5 days!! Should we request one building over the building? We want to be close to a bus stop but also close to a bridge to walk to the main building.

Just a couple more questions:

1.) Can you walk to POFQ from Parterre Place? If so how long is that walk?

2.) Is East Depot the last bus stop for both Port Orleans? Will we even be able to get on a bus in the morning to a park? Should we walk to the south depot instead?

Thanks for your help.

Has anyone ever done the fishing at POR? We did it at FW last trip and there were no fish, which kind of made it a little boring. Anyone have good luck at POR?

My husband and sons did it on our last trip 2 years ago. They didn't catch anything, but they had fun anyway.

Possibly taking a child's friend and need to know how comfy it would be for us. We would then be 2 adults and three kids ages 12, 9 and 8.......hmmmmm.....sounds like AB with the little murphy type bed??? Hmmmmm

Then just ask for "a room near to the bridge to the main buildings", the South bus stop is easy to get to from there too.

Yes, you can walk to POFQ from anywhere within POR. From Parterre it's just the other side of the road bridge in fact, so from some rooms you could be within the POFQ grounds in a couple of minutes. Allow about 10 mins on average to get to the POFQ main buildings I'd say.

The bus routes are not fixed, but East is never the first stop. Sometimes they do West>North>East and then South, in which case East is a great place to get on.

Are there usually taxis out front in the mornings?

Normally, yes - or they can order one for you.

Yes, you'd be in Alligator Bayou. As long as two of the kids don't mind sharing a queen-size bed, while the other has the fold-down murphy bed, you'll be fine.

No Mickey Mail yet....only 20 days to go....worrying a little although TA says not to!

Checking in at POR tomorrow. Can't wait. Have been counting the days down to this mini-vacation for months. Hoping for a carriage ride tomorrow night if the weather is good. :thumbsup2

My Mickey Mail was delivered to by parents house!! :rotfl:

Our postal codes are one digit apart and we have the same last name (and we live only a few blocks away from each other).

My parents got it on Thursday, but I didn't get it until today (Saturday).

Alot faster than last time :)

eeyor's my favorite: have a great time.

kittykat: great news about your mickey mail

we upgraded our dining plan so now we have one table service. we thought it would be best since we had booked two character meals and the cost to upgrade would have been the same.

now here are the reservations I've made

Tusker House-Lunch
Ohana-Dinner
Akershus-Breakfast
Boatwrights-Dinner since were staying at POR
Crystal Palace-Dinner

The only rest. with great reviews is Ohana. The worst one with reviews is Boatwrights but some are good. It's right at POR so I thought we'd try it. All the others are mixed.

Suggestions

As much as I love POR, Boatwright's is expensive for the cost.

Go over to DTD and use one of your credits over there. Honestly, I would prefer paying OOP at EOE or use a CS credit, than eat at Boatwright's.

We've never stayed at Riverside before but are considering it for our trip next fall.

We are a family of 4, but I have one young DS who will not take well to sharing a bed with anyone. If we request a room in AB will we get it? I'd really love to make use of the murphy bed.

Sorry if this question was already asked, I've just been skimming the thread and haven't seen it.

Thanks!

You can look on the first page at room categories; the only way to make sure you get AB is to book preferred. All four buildings are in AB.

Where on DTD do you recommend?

We're planning on staying at POR next year. We stayed at POFQ last year and loved the atmosphere. The evening walks were wonderful. My daughter really wants to stay in the Mansions section (not the Royal Room) - guess she's too old for that. Anyway, I know room requests are just that, requests. Is there a particular room category (other the Royal Room) that I can book which would give me a better chance of staying the the Mansion section?
