Tomorrow is Day 60- finally. I called guest services today because I needed to change something minor. When I mentioned online check in is tomorrow the CM told me "Oh no, that can't be done until 10 days out." He even went and looked it up and read it to me. On my profile it says 1 day, so what is accurate?

It's funny. I got my MM today and it also said 10 days for on-line check in. On line, it said 60 days, which when I did it. I'm confused as well. When I get to 10 I guess I'll redo it.

That's what I did. LOL. I don't remember getting an email confirmation after the 60 day checkin but I did get one after the 10 day one

My question of the day is Boatwrights! I still have 2 TS credits that aren't planned. Should i pencil in a meal at Boatwrights since we are at POR? I ate there once, years ago when my sister stayed at POR. her last name is the same as the restaurant, so they HAD to eat there!! I could have sworn it was for breakfast.
Anyway, is it good enough to use a TS credit? And about how far in advance do we need to make an ADR? We still have 98 days, but are a party of 8.

They used to serve breakfast, but no more. I absolutely would recommend boatwrights, we ate there our last trip and it was amazing. We were able to get it as a walk up, but we are also only a party of two. I would say go ahead and book the ADR if you know when you might want to go, you won't regret it.

On the old WDW website, and still on many of the international site variants, it was originally 10 days. However if you are able to log in to the newer My Disney Experience site, you will get the option to do your online checkin up to 60 days out (plus a whole load of other stuff like setting up your key-to-the-world cards and PINs, and fairly soon will be the MagicBand setup too). To be honest, it's more of a "pre-registration" facility than just a simple checkin.

Yes, I was using My Disney Experience. I guess the MM template still needs to be updated.

I expect they will once everyone can access MDX properly, but at the moment a lot of people can't. Here in England it still redirects to the old UK site for example - the only way I can get to my MDX page is by using a laptop that I took to the US with me, and which thankfully seems to have acquired a persistent cookie which has stopped the redirect. (Well, other than using a proxy anyway)

Hi everyone! We are excited for our first trip to WDW this June. I just was able to take advantage of the summer discount for Disney Visa card holders. It wasn't available for standard room views, but we were able to upgrade to a garden view and still save money (we booked through AAA). We are so excited to be able to save and improve our room a little bit too!

Since it's our first trip, we really have no expectations. It'll be me, my husband, and our two children (age 7 and 4). I plan to request an mansion room, but I really don't feel TOO strongly about that. Any other suggestions? I don't want to request too much or anything, and we really don't have much of a preference.

Thank you for this wonderful thread! I have been lurking here off and on since we decided to stay at POR.

Yep! We booked through the Spring Promo just in case the summer one wasn't as good (or there wasn't one at all!) We're booked for 5 nights at POR in early June. I just checked what our total would be for the same room type in late June and it came out to be almost $200 more. Not really a HUGE difference ($40 per night,) but that's equivalent to a meal, so we're going to keep our current dates and feel like we're getting a free dinner each night

I had booked a Preferred room and with the new discount they are saying I have to book a "garden view" room. I wonder why? I would still like AB but I guess the savings are worth giving up the preferred. I just find it strange that I've had this room booked for over a year and all if a sudden it's not available. Hmm. Oh well.

It's not that the room isn't available, it's just not available with the discount.

So I got the summer discount. I am taking a friend and her two kids In mid-June and I am paying for the room, so I was hoping for this.

When the boards said it was open to Disney Visa card holders last week, I applied for the card, but because of the bank holiday and the weekend, I could not get it in time. I am getting a $50.00 gift card to open the account.

I decided to take my chances with the public discounts and checked this morning online and all categories were available except what I booked was standard. I was able to get a savings of $265.00 in a garden view room. We are driving, so I am glad we will still be close to the car.

I called at 6:58 am and it said they were closed. I called at 7:01am and it was jammed already. So I booked online and just called to cancel my other ressie. I took the refund, so I can apply that on my new Disney Visa and then pay the balance of mine plus all of hers too and we will get another $50.00 gift card.

It is not available under the discount because they do not need it: discounts are done to fill rooms, including categories. I had to go from standard to garden view because they were all booked, as was preferred, everything else was available.
