Question. I did the online check in and put my room preference. There was no place to put my request for bed rails. Does this resort have them or do I need to bring some!

Does anyone know if there is a charge for any of the activities such as cupcake decorating? Thanks!

Those sort of things are normally free.

Yes they do have bed rails available. Make sure the request is in your original booking though, as there is no way to request them via online checkin. You can also contact the resort just before you arrive, or simply ask at the front desk when you get there.

My family will be at POR this summer and we have reserved a Royal Guest room. We want to be in a more secluded area so we are thinking of asking for a room in Parterre Place. On maps of the resort, Parterre Place has the main building and then two wings/outbuildings(?) When putting in a room request for a Parterre room closest to French Quarter, how do I refer to that location? Is it called a wing? An outbuilding? Is it then a north or south wing/outbuilding?

I understand that we will have a longer walk to the main pool and food court. For those who may have stayed in the wing/outbuilding closest to French Quarter, are there other drawbacks to that location that we need to be aware of?

Thanks!

Thank you so much! So happy for one less thing to pack/forget :). I have prepared a fax sheet and will make sure I put a bed rail request on there,

I just wanted to tell you that you do not need to use a local AAA Travel Agent. You can use any AAA TA. I am in MA and I work with a AAA TA out of South Carolina. I found that I knew more about WDW than the local office so I went looking elsewhere.

Ooo this would be much better! For some reason the branch near me, just doesn't like to plan disney trips..
And will try everything to talk you out of it... : confused:

We stayed in Parterre Last month, and actually found the north "wing" (as I call it) where we stayed to be very convenient to FQ (less than 10 min walk). It's right next to a beautiful quiet pool, and across from the foot bridge that goes to the mail bldg/food court/south bus stop. As you cross the foot bridge (from Parterre), and take a left there is a straight path to FQ. In my opinion, it's the best area to stay in the resort. If you stayed in the south "wing" and walked south on the path, you have to actually cross over the river via the roadway bridge (right beyond the south wing) and then that intersects with same path on the opposite site that leads directly to FQ. I think it's further that way.

Why not just ask for a secluded Parterre Place room as close as possible to French Quarter if that's what you want? If the extra walking isn't an issue, it's a very nice peaceful location (the Garden View rooms especially):

Glad this is showing as it should for you.... wondering where you see it in your comf email .... I have a comf number starts 6rb .. but nowhere in the email can I see room type...
After I made the final payment I received an email almost immediately that has all my details and that code beside room type.

I got an email when I paid as well, its an "invoice" email ...

But it doesn't say roomtype on it ... it has very few details actually,

Only thing I can see is package type ...

PORT ORLEANS RIVERSIDE- U8G / MAGIC YOUR WAY DINE - OL

Maybe thats it ?

How long does it take to get to each park from POR? Is it feasible to go back to the resort for lunch and then back to the parks right away?

I think it's a bit impractical to go back to your resort just for lunch. If you want to stay at your resort for awhile after you're finished eating and swim or nap and go back a few hours later, I could see doing it, but not to just eat and turn around and go back.

Oh and if you book with AAA you get story time at Epcot too! It was with jasmine when we were there in December and they sit right with her! It was a neat extra!

but can you give me an approximate timing for transportation to and from different parks?

I cannot for the life of me get online check-in to work. I keep getting an error message with Goofy after I've entered everything in. I'm trying to use a Disney Visa if that makes a difference. 29days and counting and I'd like to do online check-in. Any tips???
