This question has nothing to do with photography, sorry.:) Are sweet potato pancakes available in the food court? That was my wife's favorite breakfast at WDW. We would make a trip to Boatwrights no matter where we were staying just for those pancakes.

No, they discontinued serving the sweet potato pancakes when they closed Boatwright's for breakfast in 2009.

There is a recipe on allearsnet; I have made it a few times - not the same as sitting in the restaurant overlooking the marina - but it will do.....;)

Hi! Did you have the pancakes at breakfast? I only ask b/c Boatwright's doesn't serve breakfast anymore-only dinner.

That's all I could contribute! :)

Yes, breakfast. I know Boatwright's doesn't serve breakfast anymore. That's why we can't go there anymore for the pancakes.

Is there a machine to get quarters in the laundry room? If not, where can I get quarters at the resort? I really don't want to have to bring a bag of change with me to do laundry if I don't have to.
Thanks!

Yeah I can imagine that the weight of all them quarters could make your suitcase weight higher, then it might be subject to a overweight bag fee.

On a seperate note I am pulling my hair out over dicisions on the next camera.

Just an FYI, when we have brought rolls of quarters with us, the TSA screening has flagged them for secondary inspection, and our bags have been pulled aside.
They have then removed the rolls of quarters from the bags, swabbed them, and put them through the explosives detector.

I was just thinking of that also.

I SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO miss Boatwright's breakfast. It was all the southern and Gulf Coast food that tastes so good and is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO bad for you. I loved those deep fried french toast things (I forget what they're proper name is) doused in cinnamon and sugar.

And do I even have to add, how great a plate of biscuits and gravy with scrambled eggs was after a night at Pleasure Island.

Boatwright's breakfast and Pleasure Island. 2 great things that are no more.

Would they be ok in a checked bag?

I think we may have a problem. We put pressed penny money in a M&M mini container. I guess I will remove it from our carry on and hope for the best. :)

Off topic...does the refrigerator hold a half gallon of milk? Also, do we have to worry about the milk freezing? Last year our water bottles froze in the fridges at CSR. TIA!

I would imagine so, but we've never put them in checked luggage.
We've never had any problem other than the double check, but it takes time, and is kind of burdensome.
In fact, there is only one year where we checked luggage. We pack carry ons and do laundry half way through our trip.
We carry the laundry down, and my wife starts it while I go and get breakfast and coffee for the two of us to eat pool side.

I had them in my carry on last year and the lights and siren thingy went off for them to check it again...then they realized it was just a roll of quarters that they emptied all over my bag just to be safe....guess its expected.

I've seen reports of certain change machines being broken. If that's the case, the front desk can make change for you.

This year, we didn't bring quarters, but went into the store and got two rolls.
Just make sure you don't do it at the end of the night when their closing up.

I haven't had the pancakes, usually I go for a bagel & cream cheese, or the eggs & sausage. I did try the Omelette Bar one morning and it was pretty good!

Did i mention we have our Jan POR trip booked? Then when we got to POR last month we had the Free Dining offer for 2012, so I booked Aug 10 nights free DDP (regular plan) :rolleyes1

checking in tomorrow for first trip EVER. POR king room for my DH and I. 11 days! wooo. been stalking these boards like a crazy person for over a year. haha. so thanks to everyone who takes the time to post their pictures and share information for all us newbies. :cool1:

Thinking about staying at POR in one of the new Royal Guest rooms instead of at CSR. One thing I loved about CSR is that the pool bar (Siesta's) was on the dining plan and we could order food that counted as either a snack or a counter service meal. I heard that the pool bar at POR does not include the dining plan. Is that true? If it is, how far away is Riverside Mill from the main pool? Thanks in advance!
