Yes soooo beautful!!!!

Hi everyone!!! Joining in on the thread! I'm sooo excited I book DH and I's anniversary trip for August 2012!!! We have stayed at POR a few years back when we were a family of five...and when our DD came along I was sad knowing we wouldn't be able to stay at my favorite resort again :(...but now I can since it will be a trip sans kiddos!!:thumbsup2:cool1:

Question...the new Royal Room looks AMAZING!!! I was going to upgrade our current reservation for a king room...anyone have any idea what that might look like?? I just think it would be nice to have one, king size bed for just DH and I.

Also...I was going to book POFQ...never been...but it gets such great reviews...but I went back to good ol' POR...I just love the atmosphere, landscaping, ambiance. So excited!!

just wanted to say i too am blessed with Triplets!!! :dance3:

Just got back from a week at POR. We loved it! We stayed in Parterre Place and were just a quick walk to the pool, the bus stop and the lobby. We had great bus service and we enjoyed every aspect of POR, especially the leisurely boat ride to Downtown Disney. The only issue we had was the lounge chairs at the main pool. Most were taken with towels but we never saw anyone using them so it was difficult to find a place to put our stuff. But we loved the entertainment and games at Ol' Man Island. We'll definitely stay here again in the future! :thumbsup2

I see that there are now movies being shown each night near Oak Manor. Are they shown in the front courtyard or the back courtyard near the river? Also who can tell me what Campfire on the Bayou is and where it is held?

i read yesterday that the campfire is being held behind the main pool where the old wooden children's playground used to be... it is basically a campfire, sing along and s'mores kits are available for purchase... no characters or anything really "disney" but seems like a nice option for people who want more resort time... im thinking it will be fun for my family as my teens are out at the parks 'til the wee hours, it's a great wind-down for my li'l one... something to look forward to before bedtime so as not to be jealous of the big kids!

We're staying at POR in April in a Royal room garden view. I requester Oak Manor. Does anyone know which rooms are garden view rooms?

When completed will oak and parterre have royal rooms ONLY or will they have standard rooms in these buildings also?

Also another question as we are seriously considering POR. Has anyone had issues with the buses if you are on the last stop in POR? Are the buses normally full by the time they get around to picking up at the last stop or two or do some buses go directly to those stops at the peak times of day? Would you be better off to walk to the first bus stop?

Bumble...just a question. SO & I are going in Dec and staying at POR, just curious if this is a good area for just a couple (his first trip) or more of a family area.

Thanks so much and glad you had a great trip:)

I can comment on this question.
My DH & I spent our honeymoon at POR back in 2007. It was perfect!! I loved the grounds & the rooms in the mansion section had a romantic feel to us. We very much enjoyed our time there.:cloud9: I recommend it to any couple! Walking by the river in the evenings was wonderful. Even when it seemed crowded in the parks during the day, getting back to POR always seemed so private & we hardly ever saw other people on our walks, only when we got to the lounge. :lovestruc

Can anyone equate the distance of the worst located room at POR (meaning farthest from food court) to distances at CBR or CSR. Trying to get a worst case scenario. For example, if I'm stuck out in the 35 or 37 bldg's, or the farthest mansion is it like as much a walk as being in the Ranchos at CSR? Or is it more like being in Barbados at CBR? Anyone have an idea on that? Trying to decide whether to go preferred or save the $200. Also, is it true that the bus stop near the preferred's is the best one to get on because it is first? Could you equate a walk I may understand if we wanted to walk to POFQ to get the beignets?
