OK folks, it's about time for us to ask for 'secret agents' again...

Acadian House is scheduled to re-open by 5 August (i.e. this coming Friday) if the work has gone according to plan. Also, Magnolia Terrace is due to close for the start of its rehab tomorrow (Sunday 31 August). This may mean a little overlap when both buildings are closed of course.

So, please could anyone staying at POR over the next week or so see what they can find out about both buildings? And ideally snap a photo or two of the new Acadian House rooms if at all possible!

I hope everything is on sched, I so want one of those new rooms. We were very impressed with the PORFQ ones. Hopefully these are just as nice. I know a different company is doing it.
A small detail, but an appreciated one, love the dimmers for the lights over the beds. POFQ didn't have them. I hope POR keeps them!

I'll be there check in on 8/20. So if no body else gets photos sooner, I'll try to post some.

KCmike I'll be walking down that hall soon, to get my make you're own pasta, yum! Maybe will have to try the salad bar in the Aug heat!

They have dimmer switches over the beds? Good to hear and I hope that they keep them with the refurb. Last year we stayed at POFQ and in order to read or do anything in the room after the kids went to sleep, I had to use one of those small book lights. The wall lights were not usable if there was someone sleeping.

The dimmer switches are wonderful just for that very reason. My DH and I usually need to read to wind down a little and dim lights make that possible .

Guess I'll have to wear something wtih lime green mickeys! I do have a tote bag with one on it - maybe I'll bring it for the pool - but only if I want to be recognized - like on a good day when I'm not feeling too fat . Or if I'm not being too grouchy with the kids . Sometimes its better to be incognito .

We will be at POR in 48 days, Sept. 13. What are the odds if I have our travel agent request a room in the Acadian House that we would actually get it?? I would love to have one of the refurb'd rooms!!!

I'm loving these posts and pictures, thanks! I was really excited when I found out it was actually cheaper to stay at POR vs. a family suite (or 2 rooms) at a value resort. I love this place already and I haven't even been there yet.

I'm coming with a family of 5, but I really like the look of the mansion rooms over the AB rooms. I read that I can request a mansion room, but it may not be very likely. Does anyone have any experience to know if I have much of a chance of being able to get a room there rather than AB with 5 people? Thanks!

I am thinking of staying at POR for our upcoming honeymoon in November. Does anyone know if we requested a King size bed is there anyway we would be close to a bus stop? Or where exactly the King Size beds are located?
