I cannot for the life of me remember if I requested /asked at booking time so I feel silly for asking here. I was wondering if all the Alligator Bayou rooms include a trundle, regardless of a request? We are a group of 5 going and I just cant remember if I asked, or if it will be there or if I need to call and request. Thanks so much!

I am pretty sure that you automatically get the trundle when you are a party of 5. We always did.

You are correct; you will be automatically placed in AB when you are a family of 5.

I was reading the disneyfoodblog post for today on Gasparilla Grill and Games. Gasparilla has a coffee machine that offers expresso, capuccino, and cafe latte. Do they now have this at Riverside Mill? I really don't care for the nescafe.

i dont think anyone was meaning to be snippy or smart, I think all requests can be made at the time of booking or when u call or when you pay it off. But that doesnt mean that they can/will honor any requests.....they try I think but it depends on what the request is :yay:

Ohh ok well then I retract it. But it did sound that way. I just know what the lady said to me. Also she stated no guarantees also. That is why I suggested have three or four back up rooms picked out.

But I do know this you can call about the trundle bed and ask for those 48hrs before you show. You can ask for it anytime, but they will have a better time locating and having one ready for you 48 hrs out.

To all those about to stay there in three days to 30 days if you can get all the info from the front desk or where ever you can about the royal theme rooms please feel free to post the info here.

Oak Manor is also my favorite building.

Magnolia Terrace is my fav, but will be under construction for our visit. So Acadian House hopefully will be our next location :goodvibes

Last visit we were put in Parterre Pl practically in FQ

Sue I do know this from speaking to the front desk, if you want to request a particular building or room, you can call them up and request even as far out as a month from your arrival date. Also go to portorleans.org, and you can click on the Arcadian house and then figure out which specific rooms you like. Because it helps to have a few backups incase the first one or second are unavailable.

Thanks! I put in my request when I booked, then tweeked them last week :goodvibes I didn't have Acadian as 1st request, but that was my most important request, so just got them to re-order my requests in order of importance.

Andre has reached out to everyone who posts on the forum to try to get pictures of the refurbs - so far we have had little luck.

We are keeping our fingers crossed that someone will be able to get near the construction and post some pics.

We had a wonderful person who was able to get pics for POFQ; they actually were able to take pics of a completed room before Disney even released the design boards or pictures on their own website. They were definately undercover....... maybe they are keeping a tighter hold on POR because of the themed rooms.

Yeah! Only 2 days until we leave for Port Orleans! Looking forward to our first stay there:cool1:

Yay! Maybe you could snoop around Acadia House and report on the progress, & post photos :goodvibes

Have a great trip!

Or snoop around any areas you notice construction and hit us up with images. That would be wonderful, it would definitly make my day magical. LOL.

May I have the link to these FQ rooms?

I can tell you I used the fact that I was an architect and a construction manager, when I was there during the POFQ refurb and wasn't able to even get near the place.

The person that did really did a great job of snooping around most likely when the guys were on lunch break.

The pics are posted on the POFQ thread and Andre's website - portorleans.org.

Yes, I'm doing the no hurricane/tropical storm dance :banana::banana::dancer::dancer::dancer:

Two years ago we had to change our flight out by a couple of days in order to avoid hurricane Bill which was supposed to be directly overhead at the time our flight was leaving. Luckily we were watching the hurricane tracking and managed to leave a couple of days earlier rather than a couple of days later. Hey, it's all good when you get a surprise extra couple of Disney days.

I can live without the stress though so I will join you in the no hurricane/tropical storm dance :banana::banana::dancer::dancer::dancer:

Why not? Oak Manor has some really lovely river-view rooms, with some of the shortest walks over to the main buildings (via either of the river bridges), especially the rooms on the end of the southern wing (i.e. the wing closest to the quiet pool). One of my favourite locations in fact. See the layout plan at www.portorleans.org/magnoliabend.php

Andre

I have actually booked a river view room and I am hoping for a room in Oak Manor. It looks like a wonderful location to me. I would pass up a refurbed room in Acadian House in order to have a river side room in Oak Manor. Originally I wanted Magnolia Terrace but it looks like it will be under constuction. :sad2:

Me too, we leave Aug. 21!!!!:banana::banana:

Family of 5 here who would consider staying at POR if we had queen beds. Does anyone know if/when that could happen for the trundle rooms?

We had a river view last time. Ended up getting a free upgrade. While the view was nice, with a moderate, you don't have a balcony to sit out on to enjoy the view so I'd rather a refirb room.
However, with you not requesting a new room- that's one less person making that request so yay :rotfl::rotfl:

Yes they do (apart from the King Bed rooms).

If you are a party of five (and none are infants) then you are most likely to get Alligator Bayou anyway.

We'll know once they've completed the first Alligator Bayou buildings what the new fifth-person bed option will be when they add Queen Beds to the rooms. They should be starting on the first AB building around 25 October, so I guess we'll probably know about three weeks after that.

They are currently expecting to have completed the first four AB building before Christmas.

Did you happen to see my message in the POFQ thread looking for someone who might be able to volunteer to do some basic building layout drawings......... ? :)
