Oak Manor's Royal Rooms should be finished by 17 February, that's the launch date for the new room types. Parterre Place should be completed a few weeks later. So you should get a river view in Oak Manor.

Ok thanks to you both for that info. I guess I can't win, with the best view huh. Anyone got tips to the best rooms in riverside's oak manor building? I had contemplated would I be better off moving to a deluxe resort like polynesean?

I will be the grammy with a smile a mile long wearing Disney gear, Mickey ears and humming "zippity doo da"!

We arrive on the 23rd with my daughter's family until September 2 and then they leave and me and Pa are staying for four more days til the 6th to recover

We are lucky enough to be clebrating three birthdays while we are there -- My 39th BD on the 25th, my grandaughter's birthday on the 30th (5 years old) and my grandson's first birthday on Sept. 1.

Sue I do know this from speaking to the front desk, if you want to request a particular building or room, you can call them up and request even as far out as a month from your arrival date. Also go to portorleans.org, and you can click on the Arcadian house and then figure out which specific rooms you like. Because it helps to have a few backups incase the first one or second are unavailable.

Why not? Oak Manor has some really lovely river-view rooms, with some of the shortest walks over to the main buildings (via either of the river bridges), especially the rooms on the end of the southern wing (i.e. the wing closest to the quiet pool). Also go to portorleans.org, and you can click on the Arcadian house and then figure out which specific rooms you like. I always book my annual trip the week I get back and place my requests at that time.

WOW!!!! That is a nice long trip!!! I am happy with my 9 days. We have stayed at POR for the last 3 times, this will be the 4th. We always stayed there because we were 5. Only 4 this time, but I just can't stay anywhere else, I love it too much. We will be celebrating my sons birthday on the 24th. He turns 13. We will be doing the dessert party at MK that night as a surprise to him. 29 more days!!!!

i dont think anyone was meaning to be snippy or smart, I think all requests can be made at the time of booking or when u call or when you pay it off. But that doesnt mean that they can/will honor any requests.....they try I think but it depends on what the request is

I cannot for the life of me remember if I requested /asked at booking time so I feel silly for asking here. I was wondering if all the Alligator Bayou rooms include a trundle, regardless of a request? We are a group of 5 going and I just cant remember if I asked, or if it will be there or if I need to call and request. Thanks so much!

Yeah! Only 2 days until we leave for Port Orleans! Looking forward to our first stay there
