Is anyone else dying to see pics of refurbed rooms in AB??? My fingers are crossed that the new murphy bed is loads better than the old trundles. I'm not going to complain about queen beds either. :thumbsup2 Fingers crossed that we get a refurbed room when we get there in Jan!

On.pins.and.needles.! I cannot wait to see the refurbed AB rooms since that is where we will have to stay with our family of 5. Right now, it looks like I have a 50/50 chance as 1/2 the refurbs should be done by the time we arrive and the others should start right before or while we are there.

Yes I did use online check in. Funny thing, I did last year too and all of my requests were granted, but not this year :confused3 They were able to revise it pretty quickly though, and both the rooms were ready for us at 11 am as well!

Take care,
Tara

Yeah I already have a river view royal themed room reserved, but I was thinking about adding I wanted a corner room so we can have an extra window. But we'll see.

She's at Midwestern Baptist, Gladstone area....says the weather has been awesome!

She's really close to me. I'm up in the Kansas City North area as well. Glad she's having a good time.

I apologize if this has already been covered - didn't have time to read thru the whole thread. Now that all the rooms are going to have queen beds, what happens to the connecting doors between rooms? I believe those were on the same wall as the headboards of the beds. Is there still room for a connecting door now?

Well the will still be there. The way the beds are being put in the connecting door will still serve a function. And no you won't have to bend and wiggle around the bed. Feel free to back me up or correct me fellow veteran members. But from what I see in the layouts they will still be usable.

The refurbed room we had in Acadian house (8255) had a connecting door. It is right beside the headboard of the bed closest to the exit door, there is absolutely no obstruction at all. Still plenty of room :)

Take care:goodvibes

Thanks to you both for the info on the connecting door issue. The reason I'd asked is because we need room for a twin air mattress for DS. It worked fine in that spot in our room at CBR last trip. Hoping it will work as well at POR.:thumbsup2

Venomhatch I don't have a good shot of the bridge to Ol' Man Island. It's funny because when your there you feel like you've taken quite a bit of shots around the resort and when you come home you wish you would have taken more. Your going to have to bring home a good one of that view!

Ok I will try. I will be creating a thread in dis photo area showing some of the shots I have taken so far open for tips and suggestions. But I do know the feeling about missing out on shooting some shots you wished you had.

Same here!!! I am hoping against hope that I can get one Thanksgiving week. Long shot yes I know but one can hope :).

I can't wait I am so excited. I really did not like the trundle bed idea but the price at Por was to good not to got there. I was so excited when I found out about the refurbed rooms. Now I just have to wait.

We just booked POR for our trip in January. It's our first time at this resort and I'm a little nervous about it because we are so used to CSR. We booked a garden view because thats all they had available and I'm wondering where those rooms are located. I'd like to be put in either Magnolia or Acadian for the new revoated rooms. If I do happen to get my request which is the best bus stop to use in the mornings when going to the parks? I don't want to wait and then get on a packed bus! Any help would be appreciated.

Well rest your mind, they are located all over the resort property, but I can promise you if you get there and are not happy you can check with a guest services member there and they can see about moving you. We got one time a garden view and didn't like the location so just called them asked real nicely and they were more than happy to help if they can.

What time are you arriving? Because the earlier you show the better chance to change your room and ask them where exactly it is located? You won't have too good of a chance to see the river or anything. But I suggest going to the south depot aka the one right out side check in area. All the buses go there first.

I almost have my DH talked into a trip to WDW this August (he's happy if he never goes again ). It will be our 10th anniversary and our first trip with our 6 year old twins (they are chomping at the bit to go:yay:0. Anyway, I've priced out a stay in one of the Royal Rooms and wonder when I should book. Do you think these rooms will sell out quicker than other categories or be in higher demand? I'm hoping I can get a discount code. It's been 7 years since I've booked a trip, so any advice is greatly appreciated.

Well we booked back in July for royal rooms in feb 2012. I bet the rooms are filling up quick for my dates, in fact someone is going from here the exact same dates we are. So he may not seem interested but he is, where else can you have an excuse to be like a kid again? Not to mention it would be there first trip. They will love the royal theme also. I hear the head boards will even have motion lighting like in the fireworks etc. If your a triple A member they can set you up on payments til your trip.

What is the first bus stop called that comes from POFQ & what section of the resort is it??

There is only one stop for POFQ. So I am not sure what your asking. There are four stops at POR South aka Main one near Hotel main building, East East Depot, West Depot, and North Depot.
