Andre, love the picture of the lobby! Thanks for sharing! I can't wait to see it in person! I'm kind of fond of the blue ... I think it helps make the other colors "pop" more. :goodvibes

Totally agree. I thought prior to the carpet it looked a bit blah. The carpet has added a colourful element that I think it needed.

Can someone tell me if POR has multiple mug filling stations? Or do I have to go to the food court every time ?

Yes... and yes.

In that yes, there are two drinks dispenser stations - but they are both in the Riverside Mill food court. Sorry.

Andre

We've got a waterview room - I like the look of the Mansions - are waterview rooms available here?

Yep, plenty of water view (and river view) rooms in the mansion buildings.

Yes. They may be of a fountain or the pool; or a far off view of the river.

Not any more, Water View is now specifically of swimming pools, not fountains/etc. You might get upgraded to a River View room of course, which seems relatively common.

Water View rooms in the regular mansion buildings face toward the quiet pool between Acadian House and Magnolia Terrace.

Andre

Are all the Mansions rooms now royal room or are there some that they left as regular decorated rooms?

Yes it would. May have to Tilt it in as you put it in the safe, but it will fit. I have a mbp 13" 2011 model and it fit like a glove.

Awesome! Thanks for the info...I need it to back up my photos each night and wanted to make sure it would fit!

Hi - still hoping to get some feedback thanks :goodvibes

Oak Manor is not very far to walk at all to the main building. We stayed there and it was about a 5 minute walk. Oak Manor is a great building. Also IN AB section Bldg 15 is a great one to just a short walk across the parking lot to the main bus stop

We are here now, in AB. Last night after dinner in the food court we walked by the pool. Heard sirens, unusual at Disney. Everyone was out of the pool and a crowd was around someone on the other side (near mansions). Paramedics and a stretcher hurried by us and went to the crowd. No one near us knew what was up. The lifeguards blew the whistle after a few more minutes and everyone got back in the pool. We left while they were still working on the person. Anyone know what happened? Hated to linger.

On a happy note it is gorgeous out and was not too crowded at Epcot. We left by 330 and are refueling in our room! Love the new decor. My 17 yr old DD slept on the pull down bed!

A few more details on the lobby refurbishment (with grateful thanks to the kind individual who has provided the photos):

There is now a spaciously open section where the old Online Checkin desks used to be - there will be another large rug going in here, and more furniture, but that won't be for several months as the rug is being hand-made. Otherwise, a few small chairs need to be added in front of the children’s TV and some new stanchions for the queue areas which should be installed over the next couple of days.

The new light fittings over the desks seem very evocative of the period theming - and nice to see the lovely artwork on the back walls has been retained:

thanks for the wall safe info--- you asked which mac book? My answer: its white?

It's dd and she will want to bring it... I will ask her its size? when I see her next...

it is definitely small than our 1st desktop and a little smaller (but not much) than my 1st cel phone... AKA the brick! Love it !

Thank you so much :goodvibes

Are there any pics of views from certain rooms, I'm looking at Building16 and want to request that building, but was wondering if there is a specific "side" / "room number" I should also request. Is the view the same no matter what side? :goodvibes

Thanks for everyone's replies! I think I will let my 2 girls decide after I show them pixs of each room and bldng...which I am sure they will love the royal room! Like most of you suggested...take advantage before my youngest turns 3 and then it wont be an option for us. Cant wait for our first stay at POR!

So its confirmed we are there (March 1st - March 9th). Just because it is off peak and saved a lot of money doing so. But we finially get to stay in RGR RV room!!! Anybody else have overlapping dates?
