I'm wanting to know the answer to this too (specifically the royal room). I've got 2 squirmy daughters and 1 snoring husband, so I'm hoping to bring an air mattress for one of them, lol.

I was there last week, in a renovated AB room, and I think a twin would fit. The bed closest to the door had a connecting door to the room next door, so it's about 3 feet wide. It would be in the way of opening the door, but not a problem once everyone's down for the night.

Totally understand.:goodvibes Our situation is a little different - a 20yo DS and 9yo DD who are no way, no how going to sleep in the same bed. We were able to stay comfortably at CBR last year with DS sleeping on the twin air mattress. It is even an extra-long, raised mattress and it fit just fine in the spot alongside the bed nearest the door. We were hoping to do the same at POR as we'd really like to stay somewhere different this trip. We liked CBR but we've stayed there 3 times now.

Do all the royal rooms have a water view? it seems a room this beautiful shouldn't have a parking lot view...

We checked into a RGR today, and let me say they are awesome! The furniture and decor details are so well done. We have 2 boys ages 3 and 1 so we weren't expecting any huge reactions, but my older son was so excited when we walked in. Disney has once again done a great job!

The beds are very comfy, and it is really neat being one of the first people to use the room. It is definitely more than we were expecting!

I know you can add your credit card to your KTTW...but what if you dont have a credit card...can you use cash?

It looks like Disney did a great job designing a room that appeals to both girls and boys. I'm curious to know how the LED headboards work. Is there an on/off switch, or is it just a button you push once and it runs for a certain amount of time?

So good to hear! Do you think there is room for a blow-up bed on the floor at all? Have a wonderful trip! :)

Thanks Andre for keeping us up to date with pictures etc on the new royal rooms! I'm headed there in April for my honeymoon. I'm so excited!!! Keep the updates coming.

If anyone else can answer this question please do so - are reservations necessary for Boatwrights and if so how do I go about doing that?

You can book anytime online. After check in, you can go right over to the concierge desk and they can make ressies for you.

You can go to the hostess station when they open at 5 pm and ask about their availability. If rhey tell you 7:30 pm is the earliest they can seat you, proceed to the lounge bar and ask for Todd. Tell him you are looking for a table and suddenly it appears.

Oops, maybe that was because I spend so much money in the lounge and tip Todd, John, and Holly so well.:lmao:

But it cannot hurt telling them you know Dawn.......

The RR's have all views.

Let me see if I can explain the idea of a beautiful room having a parking lot view. Forgive me, as an architect now working in facilities, it made perfect sense to me.

CBR did pirate rooms were installed in the most remotely located rooms to make them more desirable. CBR is much more elongated on property than POR.

Parterre Place rooms have some of the most remote rooms, but are still located close to other amentities. Still, being RR's, they become desirable.

Some people do have a car and like instant access to it.

My crew could only afford standard view last year. All of our dreams were fulfilled. We had connecting rooms, my solo room being the corner room. We had refurbed rooms in Acadian House.

Other than a van dropping off the Mousekeepers every morning around the time we were leaving, we never saw five people walk by all week.

We were around the corner from the quiet pool and the walk to the closest bus stop was mostly covered by walking along the corridor area of the resort.

Every location at POR has been great, but this fulfilled my wildest dreams.

Has anyone tried using an air mattress in one of the newly refurbished rooms? We were originally planning to place a twin size alongside the bed closest to the door. But none of the pictures I've seen show that area very well. I can't tell if there is still enough space now that the rooms have queen beds. TIA:)

I would say if you moved the tables and chairs Ilike what they do for the pack n' play, or next to the bed closest to the door, where there is more room, you can do it.

Lean it against the wall in the closet during the day.

I know you can add your credit card to your KTTW...but what if you dont have a credit card...can you use cash?

Yes, you can use cash or gift cards. A lot of people talk about picking up a gift card at their local store, than loading cash on it over several weeks. If you do not use it all, you will be reimbursed.

Sorry if I'm asking a silly question that's been asked over and over, but do you call to request a Royal Room or can you book a Royal Room online? Visiting in about a month and would really like a RR. Thanks!

You can book it online or by calling. The royal rooms are a booking category, not a request that you may to may not get. I originally booked a standard room online and then called to upgrade to a royal room.

Thanks! I see it online now. Originally, I had the kids' ages at 4 & 3 (ages at the time of the trip) and the royal rooms weren't an option online. When i changed their ages to 3 & 2 (present ages), the rooms became an option.

You have to enter their ages at the time of the trip. How many people do you have on the reservation? If it's 5, you can only stay in the AB section and won't be able to book a royal room. If there are only 4 but it still won't let you book online, I would call and make the reservations.

Enjoy your stay, wish we were there! Be sure to rub the faucet just incase. ;)

Glad you are loving it! What view did you book and where in Oak is your room located?

If booking Royal Room River View and having someone in our party with a scooter, which bus stop would be better to use? I will request Oak due to a mobility impairment. From the map, it looks like Oak has a lot fewer River View rooms than Parterre.

For Oak, do you think the River View rooms will only be the ones directly on the legs of the H facing the river, or do you think they'd include those on the inside of the "H" and on the crossbar as well as long as you could see a sliver of river?
