Venom... you got the Poly like you wanted

For the one with the TA... Disney told my TA when she called yesterday to pay off our trip. I got a panic text from my TA asking if I wanted Poly or Beach Club - those were the only two offered to me.

I could never afford Poly, so this is a dream come true. My DD5 will understand this one day. We will got the the RGR's on our next trip in 2013.

Ugh, now I'm panicking and terribly upset. We love the look of the POR and had booked a royal room from 3/8 to 3/15. Do you think it's likely we'll be offered some type of upgrade (in which case I need to start researching the other resorts) or do you think they'll offer to put us in a different room at POR for the 8th and have us move into a royal room on the 9th since we're missing the room being ready by only one night?

I realize any answers are just speculation, but would love some thoughts. This is our first trip to WDW, so I'm a bit stressed out now.

You can certainly discuss that with them when they make the call to you and ask them what they can do for the one day where your not in a royal room. But I do know they were talking to people about upgrades to deluxes.

Yeah we put in our request for the poly also. So yeah. Also I was just about to respond to the TA question. But that's what I would have said. I got in touch with my TA early and told here what I wanted should they come ringing. So dont be panicked.

Thanks for the update/information. I'm disappointed, because we were looking forward to the RGR, but an upgrade would be just fine for us as well. My worry was that they would switch us to a similarly priced room, (ie, pirate room) at another moderate resort. POR was really the only mod that we were interested in, due to the grounds & the RGR.

Since we transferred our resv to an agent, does anyone know how this information would get relayed to us? Would they just work through the agent regarding the room switch, or contact directly? Just curious as to what we should expect...

I'm sorry for those that really had their heart set on the RGR, and hope things work out for you. Hopefully, everyone will get some extra pixie dust and their trips will still turn out magical

The Poly is a really awesome upgrade and worth probably 1-2k. I am hoping for a Beach Club or WL upgrade option... I assume we will be one of the last on the list to receive a phone call but I will post as soon as we get a call. I too am afraid of a parallel room swap but we would not be interested in that either.

According to this information coming my way they are not offering parallel swaps.

Thanks for the info re: the agent. I'll let her know what I've heard (if she hasn't heard already). We'd LOVE to stay at Poly again--we did for our honeymoon in '05. When we were there, I thought the rooms were a little dingy, but I've heard there was a refurb, so I'm sure things have improved. Truthfully, we would love ANY upgrade, as this was the trip we decided that we needed to be more economical and go moderate (preferably a monorail resort, but now I'm just being greedy! ). I guess we'll just have to be patient and wait for the news...

We're staying about 2 weeks later than those who have heard already, so I guess depending on how many guests are actually affected, we might not hear for a little bit. I'll post back when they get to me, and let people know what they're doing for our time frame. Fingers crossed!

I just got my call and was explained the situation and was ready. She gave me my choice of deluxes and I picked Poly and SCORE. Woo-hoo!

I didn't book through a TA, but with Disney directly. I tried to call after chatting with the online customer service on Disney's site. She gave me the reservations number, who didn't seem to know anything except to say that when we got to check-in, if our room wasn't available, they would discuss a different room or another resort at that time. Um, I'm a planner and not waiting til then

She gave me the number for POR to ask them directly and the front desk transferred me back to reservations to discuss it. Ugh!

So I guess I'll have to just wait until I get a call too, which will likely not be for awhile yet, so we're so close to the date when they might be ready. Ugh, I'm not a patient person and was already stressing about the whole trip to begin with. This has not helped

I'll definitely post when I hear anything from them.

Wow, Poly TPV... what an awesome upgrade! We wanted TPV last year but was unwilling to to spend the extra $700 from garden view. Congrats looks like Disney is trying their best to throw some extra magic everyone's way!

I didnt hear offers we told them what we wanted and they came back with theme park view.

My dates were Feb 17-20. As for choices, when I asked she said I could pick from any deluxe and she would check availability. My first choice was Poly and it came back good.

I didn't get TPV, just Garden View, but I'm still as happy as can be.
