We called today at our 45 day mark to pay for our 2/17 arrival and they stated they won't be ready. But, they upgraded us to POLY. They wouldn't give us any info other than they wouldn't be ready for our check in.

Fabulous news for your free upgrade to the Poly, but rather worrying for people who have been promising their "little princesses" a stay in Tiana's room...

I've just checked on the WDW online booking site, and the first date that now shows any availability at all for booking Royal Rooms is March 10 (which is a Saturday night). Each date after then shows decent availability, so I rather doubt that the prior weekdays are simply 'sold out' every day. So it looks like they may have pushed the booking window back about three weeks.

I'll make some enquiries and see what I can find out...

Looks like it's POR for us this summer. I am still debating on if we should book a preferred building. We have only ever stayed in 14 & 17. How big of a deal is it not to be in a preferred building. I like to get coffee in the morning while everyone is getting dressed & we have a car so we like to be near a lot as well.

I loved building 14 it was the closest to the main building I have ever been.

This is awful news! We just bought airfare a few days ago and paid our 45 day balance... they did not say that the RGR would not be available for our March 3 check in. Should I call? and whom should I call?

I just called our TA and she will look into our dates from 24th of Feb to March 3rd. We are at the 50 day mark right now. We were getting concerned also. My TA just called back right now and told me as soon as Disney opens today she would call me back and let me know what she finds. We are RGR River View. I believe if you wanted to start the ball rolling on your end, either call your TA you used or if you didnt use one call disney at (407) 939-7675 maybe at 9 or 10 and see if they tell you anything. See what they will do for you.

I'm not gonna lie, I would be disapppointed in not having a RGR, but I'd LOVE to stay at Poly again! We're checking in on Sunday the 4th, I'll be calling the TA that we used to have her check with Disney.

I'm joining in the conversation. We're booked Feb 18-22nd, standard view with free dining. This will be our first stay at POR, we stayed at POFQ in 2010 for Mardi Gras. I paid my trip off yesterday and then called today to add my daughter and niece to the reservation. My youngest is traveling with the Disney Club at school and we're crashing her trip. Their group will be at POFQ. Since we added my older daughter and niece we added some celebrations. My daughter got engaged right before Christmas and this will be my nieces first trip ever. I'm very excited to stay here for the first time. I've requested a reburbed room in the Mansions area. My oldest really wants to stay in a mansion room, but I'll take what I can get since we're standard view. We're arriving the night of the 17th but staying at the Hotel Royal Plaza by DTD. We'll be checking to POR very early Saturday morning so I'm hoping we'll have a little choice on our room.

At the moment this is all surmise based on one guest having been upgraded to the Poly, and current room-availability showing on the WDW booking website (which, as we know, is not always a reliable indicator anyway).

None of this is conclusive of an overall Royal Rooms delay yet - they may have just slightly oversold the initial availability for example.

I'm awaiting a reply from someone in a management position at the resort at the moment, so please let's not start a panic just yet.

Thanks for your reply Andre and for checking on this... I hope it all works out for everyone. I know I will have a tough time explaining to a 5 year old why we are not in the rooms she saw (if they are delayed) but that is our fault for getting her excited in the first place knowing that the rooms were just going to be open when we are going to be there.

I'm sorry I started a panic. I’ll be honest here. As excited as me and my DH are about Poly, our DD5 is very sad we won’t be in the royal guest rooms. I had JUST showed her pictures of the rooms on Saturday. Our Disney trips are for her and our 1 ½ year old girl so I’m quite bummed at the moment. Maybe it was an over sale for the resort and they will be ready. I’m surprised Disney doesn’t put in “fluff” for delays in construction or whatever it is. And, how would they know now they are delayed for opening (I’m in the commercial real estate business and when we build or renovate, we really wouldn’t know for sure at this point in time).

As of today, the CM she spoke with told her that some rooms were still scheduled to be completed on time, but that SOME rooms would not be complete. My guess is that they won't have all of Oak Manor complete, but do expect to have at least some finished. Probably the oversell that was mentioned earlier. I guess we'll have to wait and see. I'm interested to hear what Andre finds out as well.

I just spoke with the resort themselves, yes I actually got through to the hotel front desk. Disney operator at the resort section gave me the number. Upon calling the front desk, lovely Deanna answered and she stated that the refurb for RGR has been pushed back to March 9th yes March 9th. So I am sorry to say our family will be making a change to our stay.
