Do all buildings have adjoining rooms? Is there a limited supply or are most rooms connected to another?

May be traveling with multiple families, some of which would need to be in AB, some would not. Are we all likely to get separated because of this or will we all be in the AB section?

I'm really pushing for this resort....my favorite! Thanks!

I'm sure it really depends on how booked the resort is but when we stayed at POR in 2010(arriving Thanksgiving Day) my MIL/FIL had the room right next to us in the Alligator Bayou section. When we booked we just linked our two reservations and asked for adjoining/connecting rooms.

All of the buildings have adjoining rooms (rooms right next to each other). This is no room in the entire complex that does not have room next to it.

Not all of the rooms are connecting (with a door in between them). They are scattered throughout the complex. If you wish to have connecting rooms (like we had last year), I would make it my only request.

You are only guaranteed to be in AB if you are a family of 5 or if you booked preferred location. That is your best bet if you want to be in the same general location.

Any other category is scattered throughout the complex.

You can also "link" your reservations, which means they will make an effort to have you in the same location. You may be in the same building or same side of a building.

I have occasionally taken the chair from inside to sit outside the door but although you can usually fit 2 chairs out there the space is not very big and the chairs are pretty heavy.

I was lucky enough to have a room right on the river last year in Parterre Place. There were only four rooms on that end and no one walked in front of my room, because of the configuration of the walkway.

I pulled out my chair each night in the door opening (it is set at an angle) to watch the last water taxi go by every night.

A few years ago, I had a room facing the woods on the back side of Oak Manor (I think) and I was almost all the way at the end of the aisleway. I also sat out there for hours at a time, reading my book and sipping a glass of wine.

Aaahhhh!

18 DAYS
Until we leave for our first DISNEY Trip at POR!!!:woohoo::yay::woohoo::yay:
MY oldest DS (12) thinks we are going at the end of April. He will be very surprised in 18 days. I can not wait to finally tell him. This will be my DH and DS's first trip to WDW and my second. Although it will feel like my first since it has been 27 years. SO EXCITED!!!!!:cheer2:

Whoo hoo. We are going for the very first time too!

Came back to the resort for lunch today and really enjoyed the make your own pasta....had penne with chicken and pesto sauce with some red peppers, onions, garlic, peas, & broccoli. It came with a big piece of garlic bread and then for dessert I had some carrot cake. Lunch at the resort was much more peaceful than at the theme parks. We were going to go to the pool, but we are tired and are taking a quick nap before heading to Epcot for the night - dinner at Akershus tonight.

Here is a pic of dd5 outside of our room at Magnolia Terrace.

Your DD5 is adorable and I love her outfit! I really like eating at POR foodcourt. I hope you're having a great time!

Booked a Royal Room for Oct 5-11! Was going to stay at French Quarter but those Royal Rooms are so adorable!

Yay! Now for the fun part! The planning!:rotfl2:

You will love it and I've seen you here on the boards alot. You're doing it right. A disney trip is MUCH better if you go with as much information in your arsenal as you can. Have a great time!! :wizard:

Yay!! Surprising the kids is so much fun. We go yearly and we usually drive from Chicago area but last year we surprised the kids with flying. It was fun!
Looks like you may be checking in the same day we do! Have a great time and if you see a family with 3 cute blond preteens and a blond mom say hi! :dance3:

Precious little girl. Great pic. Thanks for the update. Have a wonderful time.

I'm wanting to book a trip in November but am torn. Our last two trips we've stayed at POR (bldg 14) and loved the location, but I know the kids would love love love the royal rooms. Would it be possible to request a rollaway cot or would it not fit because of the queen beds? My special needs son has issues with sharing a bed and I'm worried about sleeping arrangements. TIA!

How many are in your Family? I was told by my source absolutley not could they do a family of five or more in the royal rooms. No room for a roll away or anything. Plus the system wont let them book 5 in there.

If it is just four of you, how about an air mattress. We have brought our own and blown it up each night. I didn't feel my 16 year old stepdaughter should have to sleep with my 10 year old son.

I agree with that also!

Got my Mickey Mail today!:woohoo:

Only 25 days until we are at POR!:dance3::cool1:

The next few weeks will fly by sooo fast. They are filled with several doctor appts, but it still will make the time pass. Cant wait!:cheer2:

A little vent...

Already had my reservation made online. Called to add another room for my parents. These were my requests:
1) first floor because of wheelchair for my daughter and mother
2) connecting or nearby rooms
3) refurbed rooms
4) a recliner for my mom's room (this was listed as a choice on the special request for people with disabilities - she has heart trouble and can't sleep well lying down, so a recliner would be so helpful)

Well, CM proceeds to tell me...
1) first floor - okay
2) no connecting rooms, but should be nearby - okay
3) the refurbs are bedding only and no AB rooms are done yet, and only 16, 17 and 24 will be done by my arrival on May 20 - I tried to explain to him that this was incorrect, and he insisted that he had info directly from the resort that was updated daily and it was the only info that could be "confirmed" - yes, I know that he is wrong, wrong, wrong
4) he never ever heard of requesting a recliner and said the special request people hadn't either - I told him it was right their on the website, honestly I hadn't heard of it before either, but really it was there.

Taking a deep breath and will call back another time to confirm what requests were actually entered for our reservation.

Question to the board - anyone ever request a recliner before? I'll check over on the disability threads too, but thought I'd ask here.

Thanks for any helpful thoughts...:confused3

New here!!! We booked our first trip to WDW last week! We are leaving on the 1st, will get there the 2nd! I can't believe we will be there in 17 days!
