:scared1: :scared1:Last visit to WDW???? Why? Have fun in DL. I haven't been there in years.

My oldest will graduate High School next year. I plan to devote all my available resources to help her through college and plus I have twins just starting H.S.. We will probably take little trips but unfortunately no Disney trips for awhile. Sad I know. The "band" trip was a complete surprise and we will have to get creative just to afford that one. We are excited about a return to the world though.

You should revisit Disneyland again. It is so much fun! Don't tell anyone but Disneyland is our favorite park. Hope I don't get burned for saying this on the WDW side of things. I still have a special place in my heart though for WDW and P.O. Riverside. WDW defintely has DL beat in resorts and food but not so much in parks. Just my two cents.

We will probably do Riverside again as its the most affordable for our party of five. I love the lush feel of Riverside and its scenic views.

I know Denise from Mousesteps took several hundred photos at POFQ and POR today, which should be up on her website over the next few days. I'll post a link as soon as she uploads them.

I cant wait!!! Look forward to it.

I read that the lobby will be renovated beginning in April. Does anyone know if they will be closing it or just blocking off parts at times? Any info on what all will be going on?

Thank you MissyTara. Helpful info!!

All of the info on here is great. Thank all you pro's for answering the questions for a newbie!!

We checked in today, booked a garden view back in October with the queen bed description. Put in a room request for Magnolia Terrace and we got it, ended up on the third floor. We arrived around 10am and our room was not ready but they sent us a text around 2pm to let us know it was. Coming back from Epcot, we didn't realize that we were sharing with the French Quarter and we got off at the wrong stop, so we took a nice evening stroll back to Riverside. We did get some free beads and coins from the bell man at the French Quarter. We are really liking the resort so far. Tomorrow we will spend some time at the pool.

I have what might be a stupid question. I booked a River View, (not water, specifically River View). Looking at the map, it's hard to tell, what buildings are the majority of the River View rooms in?

The only other time I've been to POR was back in 1995 when it was Dixie Landings. I remember we stayed in one of the mansion buildings,(I think it was Magnolia) and I know we didn't have a River View. We were also on the 1st floor.

Woot! You leave or arrive at the same time we do! We are staying at the Fountains off site for the first week and then POR on the 3rd for another week. I hope you have a wonderful time!

It sounds wonderful! I've never walked between the 2 resorts and I'm gonna do it this time. Keep your little live trip report going!! We love living vicariously....:)

I know this is going to sound obvious, but the buildings with the river view rooms are the ones that face the river....

If you look on the map, that would be Acadian House and Magnolia Terrace in the mansion buildings, and Alligator Bayou 14, 18, 27 and 38. (The other two mansion buildings are being converted to Royal Rooms so won't be included under normal River View bookings any more)

We'll be heading home on the 3rd (not something I want to even think about!).

I'm so excited to be going so soon!!! Hope your trip is wonderful as well!

How is the hair dryer in the room? Standard wall mount that whispers into your hair? Nice powerful one?

I am packing now and I am really tempted to bring my hair dryer, but I also need space.

anyone have any opinions on the hairdryer?

LOL, told you it was a stupid question. I ask because in my experience Disney room views can be deceptive, even when looking at the map. At some resorts, what looks like it should be one kind of view sometimes isn't.

Do all buildings have adjoining rooms? Is there a limited supply or are most rooms connected to another?

May be traveling with multiple families, some of which would need to be in AB, some would not. Are we all likely to get separated because of this or will we all be in the AB section?

I'm really pushing for this resort....my favorite! Thanks!

Yeah we are heading home also on that day, not trying to think about that either yet.

Hi All. I know that there aren't balconies at Por but do people take chairs and sit outside their door? Or is this frowned upon? We got a garden view room and thought it would be nice to sit outside with our coffee in the morning :goodvibes

18 DAYS
Until we leave for our first DISNEY Trip at POR!!!:woohoo::yay::woohoo::yay:
MY oldest DS (12) thinks we are going at the end of April. He will be very surprised in 18 days. I can not wait to finally tell him. This will be my DH and DS's first trip to WDW and my second. Although it will feel like my first since it has been 27 years. SO EXCITED!!!!!:cheer2:

I have occasionally taken the chair from inside to sit outside the door but although you can usually fit 2 chairs out there the space is not very big and the chairs are pretty heavy.
