I have been following this thread forever but have never posted. We have a royal room booked for March 25 - 30. Today I got a call from someone at Disney about my reservation and my husband saw it come across the caller id and let it go to voice mail. The message just gave a name and number to call but when I call it back it automatically goes to a message asking me to leave my information and they will call back within 48 hours. The anticipation is killing me and I am dying to know what they wanted! Do you think the royal rooms have been delayed further? Did anyone else around our check in day get a call today?

oh man here we go again....we have a royal room booked for March 23-29. We havent gotten any calls yet. Do keep us posted.

We are staying in April in POR for 4 nights before heading off on the Magic for a 5night cruise. There are five of us, my youngest is 9. My TA put us in POR and we were fine being a little jammed in one room as we are going to be in a cruise stateroom also. But I have now seen the new Murphy and am concerned. When I booked it was still called a trundle, but the pics I have seen of the new bed look rather small. Now I just read that it says, not for kids over 9. Yikes! Is my daughter going to be comfortable?? She is a good size normal 9 year old I'd say for size. Help? Getting nervous we made a BIG mistake.

Ok the hubster call POR directly and they said everything is still on schedule for March 9th.

geez have a little sympathy here....its nerve wracking for this first time disney girl! lol

edit to add: ok at first I thought you had all the laughing emoticons lol You must have edit it or I'm seriously going crazy lol

Umm, yeah I did in fact actually hit the wrong one and as it was posting I stopped it and hit edit that fast, I meant to hit the confused one. SO yeah I do feel you on this.

On a different note: Just got off the phone with my sources there, and the dates are still March 9th opening. Now this is tentative which means if they run low in supplies or some people just fall behind it can change, but this is a 95% possibility that the rooms will be ready on time in OAK building. Now from what I am being told the Parterre Building may be changing that date now, but that is only a 20% chance of that.

Ok all you wonderful PO fans I need some help. We were able to get FREE QS Dining today but PO FQ was not available for our dates but PO Riverside was. We have never stayed there & because we had choose PO FQ for the queen size beds I requested rehabed rooms. On my confirmation is has req refurb rms bldgs 90 95 24 & 16. I didn't req any specific blgs. I looked at the map & saw 24 & 16 but not 90 & 95. Are these any of the mansions? Cuz that is what I would really like but can't afford the royal rooms on 2 rooms this trip. We have a garden view booked if this helps at all. TIA

I'm pretty certain that buildings 90 & 95 are Oak and Parterre in the mansion section. Those notes on your confirmation make no sense. I would call back, and have them maybe just put "mansion section" as your request. Because you didn't book a royal room, that would put you in either building 80 or 85, which are both fully refurbished. (unless your dates are prior to the completion of the royal rooms... then I would ask for building 80 or 85 specifically).

We just returned from POR last week, and all 3 of our requests were granted (building 85 , ground floor, connecting with my parents). However, I'm sure the resort wasn't anywhere near even approaching capacity the week we were there.

Good luck with your request... and enjoy your trip!!!

Of the new Royal Rooms, which ones would be nearest the main building, bus stops, etc.? Or is it not possible? I can't quite tell from the map. I was just going to request a room in Building 14 in Alligator Bayou but would like Queen sized beds instead of the doubles. Planning on going in November and will have my Mother with and she can't walk as much as us so would like to be as close as possible to busses and eating and possibly on ground floor. Any advice is greatly appreciated!!!

Oak will be the closest to the main building even though its not that long of a walk anyways. AB building 14 has queens now and should be done with refurb.

Building 14 would be the closest to the main building, but if you want royal rooms then you will be swinging for Oak for the closest.

Unless you are really set on the theming of the Royal Rooms, I would book a preferred room instead. By the time you travel in November, all of the preferred buildings should be completely refurbished with the queen beds. We just traveled with my parents last week. We stayed in Magnolia Terrace. Our walk to the bus stop was pretty good (right behind our building), but my Dad did have a pretty rough time with the walk to the food court. He's an early riser, and would normally head to the food court right away in the mornings for a cherry danish and coffee when we stayed at French Quarter. At Riverside last week, I went and brought it back for him. If you do stay in the Royal Rooms, I'm not really sure which would be better.

thanks....now I'm just gonna stop stressing about this or at least try lol

Thank you both!!! I didn't realize that AB would have Queen beds, and although the Royal Rooms would be really neat to stay in, I can save money by staying in an AB room. Thanks for answering my question!

Yeah that's what we are here for. No Problem!

Just got off the phone with Disney and they told me that not all of the Royal rooms will be done before our reservation and they offered me an upgrade to a deluxe resort. I was offered Poly or Boardwalk and went with Poly garden view. My daughters are a little disappointed they wont be staying in a princess room but after showing them pictures of Poly they are a little more excited.

When is your date? One Building, OAK, Will be done by the 9th of March. That is the date so far. But that is only 256 rooms. So they may be moving over booked people now. I am curious to see your dates so I can ask my contact there.

if our royal rooms arent ready by March 23 I dont wanna upgrade...rather stay at POR in a room with queen beds. However I do wanna be compenstated since we already paid for RR....hmmm maybe free dining lol

I've been told it's not going to be a widespread issue (as the initial 256 Royal Rooms should cover pretty much all of the bookings made during the busy easter period) but I guess there are still going to be odd dates for which there might be overbooking and they may need to upgrade some guests to cope with demand.

However if you really, really want a Royal Room instead, I'm guessing that they could always offer the same upgrade to someone else until they manage to adjust the numbers they need.
