Quick question. We will be getting to Disney in the morning and checking in. I know the room probably wont be ready but can we still use the bus to the park or do we need to drive to the park?

You will be able to get your "key to the world" which will enable you to take the bus to the parks

I booked CBR with FD since there were no standard rooms at POR. They did have a garden view at POR . I thought that would be around 250 or so for our stay but when I went to price it out now it was only 100.00.

So my question is are there any Alligator rooms that are garden view? I'm going to guess the answer is no. But thought I would ask. Because I would much rather prefer a Alligator section room.

i am seriously thinking about staying at riverside this year. i need a room with a roll in shower. at riverside do those rooms have two beds or a king?

They have 2 queens. Any accessible King rooms are being converted to 2 queens with the refurb to conform with a new law starting March 15.

Anyone is allowed to use the Disney buses

Thinking of booking POR for November. If the Disney transportation picks us up a the airport, it is true they will deliver our bags to our room when it is ready in the afternoon? Does that mean we can hand off our luggage, pick up our keys to the world and stuff at POR and go hit the parks?

We go to Disney this month!!!!:cool1:

Hope all goes will tomorrow!! Snow day...I'm setting with windows open an it's 71 outside....we have had no winter this year. Maybe a dusting of snow is all.

Yes neighbor, but they are talking about our temps dropping drastically tonight and maybe even seeing shhhh (that s... word) in the am. NO please say it isn't so! At least it is supposed to be back up to the 50's this weekend.

Yes, you can hand off your carry-on luggage to the baggage room! Your checked luggage will show up in your room within a few hours. You can check in, get your keys to the world, and head to the parks. They will call or text you with your room number so when you get done you can head straight for your room. You may have to pick up your carry-on luggage from baggage claim, but I have had them deliver it with my checked luggage sometimes. I usually book that first flight of the morning so I can be in the parks by 1:30pm!

There definitely are--I stayed in one last month, in building 37 to be specific. I'd bet that most if not all of the Alligator Bayou buildings excluding the Preferred buildings have some Garden View category rooms.

The view in question wasn't anything noteworthy (but the only expectation we had was no-parking-lot, which was true), but we loved the location as we could be out the door and to the North bus stop within a minute.

YES!

I am excited about this trip where Jet Blue checks one bag for free. I'll be able to pack shampoo, conditioner, and liquids! You'll get luggage tags and give the checked bags at your airline pre-board. The bags magically arrive at your resort. You do not have to wait at the baggage claim. Just take the magical bus to your resort and check-in. Even if your room is not ready (it always has been for me with around 10AM check-ins), you'll get your pass card with your tickets. You can start your plans immediately.

They are Queens now

Hello!!

I've stayed at POR twice, long ago, when it was still called Dixie Landings.

I loved it. What a beautiful resort!

I'm not sure if we'll be staying there this November, only about a 50% chance.

There'd be three adults and two children, so we'd need a trundle bed room. There's no chance that we could get a royal room, is there? Probably not.. I thought I read that they're only in Magnolia buildings, and the trundles are all in Alligator bayou.

Is that right?

I really want to stay in a royal room. Has anyone stayed there? What are your thoughts? (I've not read through the whole thread yet, sorry if I'm asking something that someone has already answered.)

Sorry to tell you this but the Royal rooms will not have the Murphy beds and will only sleep four.

The Royal rooms have not been open to the public as of yet but there are a number Dis'ers that post on this thread that will be among the first ever to stay in a Royal room. Let's hope for some great pix and reviews (hint, hint) :rolleyes1

Yeah that's what I figured. Oh well.. I'll just have to deal with Alligator Bayou then. I enjoy that area as well. I just love the picture of the Royal room. Looks SO cool!

I am leaving for POR in the morning!! I can't wait!!:dance3:
