Thats my feeling too. Last summer in Myrtle Beach she was soooo upset that she couldnt go on some of the faster rides...mainly rollercoasters. I wanna avoid that. She's only 45 inches right now. Thank you sooo much.

My 11 and 12 year old daughters don't like coasters. They don't even want to try space mountain. That said, my girls prefer the original universal studios the most out of all the parks in Orlando. For me, it is not the same since they replaced king kong.

I absolutely love Southwest. Last year we flew for $99/each way pp from SEATTLE! I don't think we're going to get that lucky this year though, so I'm shelling out the $500 pp on Alaska. The good thing about that flight though is that it's a non-stop. Turns an 8 or 9 hour day with layovers into a 5 hour flight. It's much easier on all of us.

We just got $100 each way from Birmingham AL. From Seattle is an AWESOME rate! Lucky you!

Magic kingdom closes at 7, 9, or 11 pm
Epcot closes at 9pm
MGM closes at 8pm
Animal closes at 5 or 6 pm

Please excuse me if I said something incorrect. This is certainly earlier Park closing times than I am use to from annual trips made in August. I miss out on the pool slide every visit because the lifeguards leave before the parks close. And the lifeguard hours start late too. I'm sure this fits into most peoples' agenda since it persists this way. Last year at French quarter in August, I never found time to use the boat or the pool slide. I thought going in September this year might make a difference, but not if everything including the parks stop earlier. My kids can't eat dinner late, that makes for crabby patties. Thank you for the great ideas though. We may never get to the slide, but the boats and downtown Disney seem to be open a few hours longer than the parks.

Those hours are correct, but keep in mind the MK will only be closing at 7pm on Tuesday and Friday because of MNSSHP.

We always split our days to ensure maximum pool time. We're up before dawn, back at the hotel for lunch, swim til 4, back out at 5pm kind of people.

MNSSHP. This is an acronym for the Halloween party? I think I found cost at around sixty per person for this ticket. We are not into celebrating hallows eve in September. I was hoping to hit the pool after seven closing at the kingdom. But with the approximate hour to leave by bus and change into swim attire, the lifeguard will be off duty. I get many families hop parks, go to a different location for dining, or take time away from parks to travel to hotel. My family does not. We don't see the value in travel time wasted. Even if I were to add a ninth or tenth day to the reservation, staying at the hotel just wouldn't enter our minds. We would want to be in a park from open to close.

I landed $90 bucks each way out of Reagan with jet blue!

I cant wait to hear about your experince there and if you had a wait or not. Have fun!!!!

We went there today as I mentioned, got the kitchen sink, and got our tails handed to us trying to finish it. But it was great experience, located in the beach club resort over by the windmill on the blue building. Not too big of a dining room. But didn't have to wait at all. Went directly in and sat down no reservations needed.

Also tonight I set out to buy my monorail train set for under the xmas tree this year. All they have here are a bunch of black and teal blue ones. So if anyone is looking for one there you go. Every park, every resort, same story including toy store and world of disney stores.

Picked up the black one :( Ohh well.

Venom, hoping you are enjoying your vacation!

Why thank you I am actually, also I just explored beach club, swan and dolphin, and board walk today along with going to Hollywood this morning.

Also I PMed you if you have a minute.

Oh you have to go to MNSSHP!! We were there in Oct 2010 and we werent going to do it. We had 6 people so it was a big added expense. But my friend convinced me to do it and it was AWESOME!! We didnt wear costumes but that didnt matter. The parade and fireworks were incredible! And there are so many characters out we would have never seen. I would really consider it!

Hi Nichole,
Yes, we did book the Royal Room.....I'm so excited to see the looks on my kids faces when they walk in and see it!!! This whole trip is going to be a surprise and I think the Royal Room will just add to it!!!

Venomhatch - so happy thing have gone well for you this trip. If you could only use one lens at Disney, which one would it be or better yet, if you do not have it, what would it be? When do we get to see some more pictures?

Also, my DD37 her DH and DD9-DS5 and DD38 her DH and DD14 plus DN14 who all call POR home have decided to do a 12 day in 2013 and 6 at POR and 6 at either CSR or CBR. DD38 has been to all of the Values but POR is the only Mod. so we are asking for some help here to plan 2013?

DD38 called and has decided to add three nights to her trip with DD14 to Tampa in June with a stay at CSR so she will know about that resort so can someone make a comparison for me? I think she wants to do a bounce back for 2013.

I hope your DD has a fantastic birthday!

That is awesome that the trip is a surprise! Wish I could keep it a secret and surprise my kids. In 14 trips I haven't surprised them yet . I hope you have a magical trip! pixiedust:

I am so excited just booked free dining, with the visa rewards offer at POR Aug 31 - Sept. 14, upgraded to Deluxe dining. Saved about $2,500. We are taking my niece and celebrating my daughters 10th birthday. Never been to POR and can't wait to see it. Thanks to everyone on here for all the great information. Going to book the pirate adventure for the girls and take a lovely carriage ride. :yay:

I also wanted to add how wonderful everyone's trip is going that didn't get a chance to stay at POR with the RR rooms. I am happy everyone is enjoying it.

I know a few years ago, I upgraded on the 4/3 deal to SSR and I thought it would be great, because it would have all the same amentities that POR had that I loved so much.

I was heartbroken, other than the restaurant and the tiny balcony that only fit one person at a time, I missed POR so much, I took the water taxi down every night and almost cried....when I went back to SSR each night. Even my two traveling companions wished we hadn't changed resorts - they loved POR.

I am so happy for you all; it must have been such a disappointment not to be at POR, but a wonderful opportunity to find something new!

Its a snowday here...blech! BUT I'm taking advantage of it by re-organizing what I've already packed and packing some more.

Tomorrow Hubster is going in tomorrow for surgery on his torn meniscus....dr said it will be better to do it now because it will just get worst when we are at Disney.

Its been so Mild up here in NE NY. The last big snow storm we got was a foot of snow back in Mid October. After that it would be an inch or two here and there...it was mostly rain that we got. I was hoping that we were in the clear as far as snow goes :rotfl: but I guess not. Its been snowing here for 24 hours and still hasnt stopped.

I am happy to here he has made a decision and I know he won't hold you to girls back from going and going and going. Just find him a place to sit on those trips to DTD.
