I would love to know how far the Royal Rooms are from the food court and Lobby? Also which bus stop is closest? This would be our first time at POR.:yay:

Just booked our air today. Was alot more than it was last year. But I was kind of expecting that. Hoping that there is some FD in my future. :)

Thank you!! Enjoy your trip and the Royal Room. :)

Yes! LOL I was placing a American Girl doll order so that is where that came from.:rotfl2: I was sent dh a e-mail asking about the trip and the order I was placing for the girls. To many things on my mind.

You can still afford WDW even after purchasing AG's:lmao: Last year on our why up to Michigan, my DW added a night in Alpharetta, GA so that we could go to the store for our oldest DD BDay. I could not believe my eyes when I went into the store, you talk about sticker shock:eek:

We're buying our airfare tomorrow for Sept. If the gas prices skyrocket this summer as they are predicting, they aren't going to get any cheaper than they are now!

That is why we booked. Airtran went form 968.00 last Thursday to 1368.00 in the same day. So I ended up booking SW for 1076.00 non stop no bag fees or seat fees for the 4 of us. Even that has gone up 40.00 since I first started pricing out flights.

Last year I got a deal 600.00 for the 4 of us threw SW. I think they had a special 69.00 fare rate.

I agree with you on the price hike. We purchased our tickets on SW on this past Sat and on Monday the same tickets went up $45 for the adults and $64for the Seniors. Glad our tickets are locked in on price.

If the price of the package goes up for POR, will we have to pay the difference if we have only paid our deposit on our package?:surfweb:

It won't go up. You are locked in once deposit is made.

I stayed in room 9594 few years back ( patrie place) closet stop to our room was one out front of general store/main lobby (believe it is south stop. ) I loved location and kinda hope we get it again but doesn't look promising :( Yes we have a royal room booked 2 rms actually.

:banana::banana: 6 Days!!!!!:banana::banana:

Just read on another thread about coffee makers being changed out from the 4 cup basket type to a cuisnart pod type system! Can anyone confirm whether all the rooms have been changed? I usually bring my own grounds and filters, but if they change the system I will go and by the cuisnart pods!

Thank you :goodvibes. Those buildings look close on the map. But since I have never actually stayed there, I didn't know if it was going to be a long hike with the kids or to run for coffee.

I absolutely love Southwest. Last year we flew for $99/each way pp from SEATTLE! I don't think we're going to get that lucky this year though, so I'm shelling out the $500 pp on Alaska. The good thing about that flight though is that it's a non-stop. Turns an 8 or 9 hour day with layovers into a 5 hour flight. It's much easier on all of us.

Less then 24 hours until we leave!!! :woohoo:

Have a great time!!!

Oh, I want to know this too??? Anyone??

I have not heard any updates, so far.

I am guessing that Disney magic will kick in and our royal rooms will be ready by the 9th/10th....

I hope so.... :grouphug:

would you do universal studios with a 6 yr old? Planning next year's trip before we even go on THIS trip lol

Here's my thing about US/IoA. I love Islands of Adventure. LOVE it. I am a huge Harry Potter fan, so I'm slightly biased, but as my daughter starts to grow I think our vacations will become more US/IoA/Sea World centric, and less Disney centric. We'll probably always go to EPCOT on an Orlando trip to eat, but US/IoA just has more attractions geared toward older/taller kids. Dumbo and Peter Pan are cute, but my tiny 8 year old would much rather ride the RNRR a dozen times than ride either of those.

That said, I took my DD there when she was 7 and exactly 48 inches tall. Exactly. This was a big problem when we went to IoA. I had no idea before that trip that she would be interested in going fast and being flipped upside down on roller coasters. It came back to bite me big time, when she did, indeed want to ride The Hulk, Dr. Doom, and Dueling Dragons, but was too short to ride all three. She was devastated, there were tears. I felt terrible.

My advice is to wait to venture over there until your DD is 54 inches tall and can ride every single ride at both Universal Parks. It's a better value for your money, and it will avoid any tear filled incidents.

Can anyone tell me if they have caffeine free coke at fultons? How about cherry or vanilla coke? Are they cans or bottles?

TIA!!!

Thats my feeling too. Last summer in Myrtle Beach she was soooo upset that she couldnt go on some of the faster rides...mainly rollercoasters. I wanna avoid that. She's only 45 inches right now. Thank you sooo much.

I just looked at the park hours for September, it's when I'll be there too. The only park that consistantly closes at 8pm is DHS. The MK is open until at least 9pm every night with the exception of Tuesdays and Fridays, as those are MNSSHP nights.

Magic kingdom closes at 7, 9, or 11 pm
Epcot closes at 9pm
MGM closes at 8pm
Animal closes at 5 or 6 pm

Please excuse me if I said something incorrect. This is certainly earlier Park closing times than I am use to from annual trips made in August. I miss out on the pool slide every visit because the lifeguards leave before the parks close. And the lifeguard hours start late too. I'm sure this fits into most peoples' agenda since it persists this way. Last year at French quarter in August, I never found time to use the boat or the pool slide. I thought going in September this year might make a difference, but not if everything including the parks stop earlier. My kids can't eat dinner late, that makes for crabby patties. Thank you for the great ideas though. We may never get to the slide, but the boats and downtown Disney seem to be open a few hours longer than the parks.
