POR pool slide is much better then POFQ, here is a very good you tube of it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kfyokCf9cbU
Yes, all rooms are getting queen beds and a total make over. August is the current completion goal for the refurb, so the majority of the room should be finished by then. POR is a great resort with plenty of activities and is just great to walk around at. I hope this helps, don't forget POR has quiet pools also:)

Just 17 days until we head south to get out of this chilling weather here in northwest florida:laughing:

Thank you for this video link! The slide looks supercalifragilistic. Maybe I should add another day to my reservation. Does this slide have operating hours? The parks close early in September and I thought we could hit the pool in the PM hours. But, we can't miss using the slide.

I in read the u-tube link that the slide operates only with lifeguard. Lifeguard hours are 10 am to 10 pm from end of may to end of August. Otherwise, no lifeguard after 8 pm.

Any suggestions for what to do after 8pm during September?

Hot tub, carriage ride, boat to DTD or on wednesday thru saturday Yehaa Bob's show starts at 8.

Not POR related but has anyone eaten at the Beaches N Cream Soda Shop? My friend is thinking we should check it out when we are there....in 30 DAYS!!...and I'm wondering if it is worth it? I see they take no reservations and its small.

There were 4 of us and we had The Kitchen Sink Sundae, and couldn't finish it.
Yum!

You can still swim in the pool, just not the slide. As mentioned- hot tub, Horse & Carriage ride, Bob Jackson's show in the evening in River Roost, Outside movies, boat to DTD, take a walk around the resort, the landscapping is beautiful. And you can walk over to POFQ too. They also have evening entertainment.

Yeah I couldnt finish the Kitchen Sink... that thing is soo big. No that's what she said anyone!

Wonder how many Weight Watchers points that is???:rotfl:

The Kitchen Sink? Probably off the scale!

"Do you do a low-calorie version?" ;) :rotfl:

[Edit: I forgot about the calorie-negating zone that Walt Disney World apparently generates - so why not have two? :) ]

We are leaving for POR in three days! I'm so excited, this will be our first time at this resort and I think it looks beautiful. I've visited in the past while resort hopping, but have never actually stayed there. I've never received a bounceback offer and am hoping to get one while there as I hear they can be a great deal. My question is, how great of a deal are they? Are they better than the 35-40% off rooms offer that was out for the spring?

They vary from time to time, so it is never easy to give a standardized answer on that. They also vary with the percentage from values to deluxes.

You almost never see one in the room; I always have to ask housekeeping for one. People grab them right before they leave, throw them in their suitcase and then when they get home realize they have to book them before they leave. They almost never read the fine print.

Hi Everyone,
I'm so glad I found this thread. We are doing our first family WDW trip in October. I went a few times as a child and spent one day at MK when DS was 3, this was DH fist time there. We had booked a room at CSR, but after reading some reviews and realizing there was a convention the week we will be there I just switched over to POR with the Royal room request. This probably won't excited my DS, now 7.5 years, but our DD who will be 3.5 yrs when we go and already a big princess fan will love it.

We are so excited POR looks beautiful!!!

Thank you!! Enjoy your trip and the Royal Room. :)
Is AG supposed to be AB? Yes queens in every room except for king room. Yes supposed to be completed by August. Did you check out the slide link above!

Yes! LOL I was placing a American Girl doll order so that is where that came from.:rotfl2: I was sent dh a e-mail asking about the trip and the order I was placing for the girls. To many things on my mind.

On the kitchen sink front we did it a few years ago with 3 adults and an almost 16 yo boy. THe poor kid had sugar shakes so bad it was kinda funny.

AS for Beaches and Cream Chow: It's one of my favorite places to eat and Dh said they had best burgers on property. I personally feel it's kinda a poor use of a TS credit but each their own in how they use TS credits.

Extra magic hours, late dinner at one of the hotels, (an 8pm 'Ohana reservation is the best), or if you are going mid-month and beyond, Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party.

Plus, remember, Epcot is always open until at least 9pm. I love to stay at Epcot until after closing and stroll through the World Showcase when it's not crowded and all lit up. It's an entirely different experience at night.

I just looked at the park hours for September, it's when I'll be there too. The only park that consistantly closes at 8pm is DHS. The MK is open until at least 9pm every night with the exception of Tuesdays and Fridays, as those are MNSSHP nights.

Yeah we are going there tonight. Cant wait to see what all the talk is about.

Did you book a Royal Room? It's not request but a category you have to book. I just don't want you to be disappointed when you get there.:goodvibes
I just booked one today for my DD who is having a Birthday right before the trip.
