Port Orleans Riverside and French Quarter Room Request Fax Thread

Hello, I need some help our request. :wave2:

Is "non-connecting room" a good way to phrase it? I don't want our rooms to have the connecting door.

•NON-Connecting Room
•Must be Third Floor , we are very sensitive sleepers
•Possibly close to the elevators

Sounds about right, just ask for a "room without a Connecting Door" should be fine. I'd avoid using the word "must" in the third-floor item though, as requests are not guarantees.

Probably best to just explain that you are sensitive sleepers and in-room noise is a problem for you, and ask for a "top floor room without a connecting doorway, ideally near to an elevator if possible".

Thank you Andre! I knew using "must" was a bit much.

This will be our first stay at POR. Sent in my request fax Saturday morning! Hoping for some pixie dust for my sweet girl but not stressing on it - she has the best attitude and never complains so I know no matter what building we end up in, we will still have a magical time :) And a big huge "Thank You!" to Venom for all of the fantastic info - wishing you continued progress in your recovery :goodvibes

If I sent my fax on Monday for my Friday arrival and haven't heard back yet, should I follow up? I don't want to be a pest!

I sent my fax in last week before Christmas, as Andre suggested, and I never heard from them. I got here this morning, not a peep of which room I'd be getting. Finally got the text while in line for Spaceship Earth, and checked it out against Andre's website. Perfect room!

We are checking in on January 9 for Marathon Weekend. This morning I faxed in a room request. I asked for corner room on the second floor in building 14 or 18 as we had a preferred room booked. I also gave a few room number examples of what I was looking for.

An hour later I received an email back giving me the exact room number I had been assigned, and it met all my requests.

Now that's what I call good customer service.

Glad to hear they worked some extra magic in there for you!

There is some great info in this thread! Our next Disney trip will be in July with my daughter's clogging team. They will be performing at DD. There are three families who have all booked preferred rooms, we have 5 in our party and the others have 3 in their parties. We would all like to be in the same building...same floor is possible. What would be the best way to send in these requests? Individually or as a group with all of the reservation numbers listed?

From what I've read, we should be in the Alligator Bayou area with the preferred rooms. Are there other suggested requests we should make? (Views, particular building, floor, etc?) This will be our first time at POR, so I'm not very familiar with the resort. Thanks in advance!

Send your requests together with all of the reservation numbers and names listed in one request. For AB, unless you have a preferred location booking, buildings 16 and 17 are very nice.

Thank you very much! We all paid for the preferred rooms. Any special requests we should keep in mind on the preferred rooms? Views or buildings? We stayed at AKL last time and our room was fantastic. Just want to make sure we have great stay this time too. Thanks!

Sorry, I missed that in the original post. All of the buildings are fine, but building 14 is the closest to the main building. 15 and 18 are also very close, and are right next to a quiet pool too. But all four of the preferred buildings are within a very short walk anyway.

I would suggest that you ask for a nice view (e.g. garden outlook) as some of the rooms in the Preferred Buildings face the parking lots. If no one has any problems with stairs, an upper floor would be quieter too.

Awesome! Thank you so much!!

Wow! I've never had a response to a room request fax.. and I just got a response in under an hour!

I am confused, though..... I thought rooms didn't get assigned until basically right when you check in. How can they tell me that they have assigned me what I asked for 5 days before check in?

Also... at this point, does it make a difference if I do on-line check in or not at this point?

Thanks!

We arrive at WDW on 1/21/15. We stay one night at POP & then move to POR for a6 night pkg. since we are arriving at POR on a Thursday, what day should I fax room requests? Will we have a better chance of gating/keeping our assigned room if we go over and check in early in the morning, closer to official check in time, or check in at home? If weather delays our arrival, what happens to our room assignment/pkg?
