Port orleans riverside alligator bayou

I am looking at staying here primarily due to murphy bed so my grandkids don't have to sleep together. We will actually need three rooms though. One will have 2 adults in the room; One will have 2 adults and 2 kids; and one will have 2 adults and one kid. I have read that alligator bayou has the preferred rooms with the murphy bed. In alligator bayou do they have regular rooms also or would we all have to get preferred rooms if we wanted to be close together.

Only the first 3 buildings in Alligator Bayou are preferred. There are Murphy bed rooms scattered throughout, not only in preferred.

The only way to guarantee that you would get a murphy bed would be to book preferred since you dont have 5 people in a room.

You would all want to book the same room category and link the reservations together to be near each other.

they are tendle beds (pull out from under one bed). they are shorter than the regular bed. I would put 5 people on one reservation so you can make sure to get a room with one.

Not anymore, they are now a fold down "Murphy" type bed.

Yes, they are small. Possibly smaller than the trundle. However, with the trundle, a taller child or even a small adult could get away with it since they were on the floor. With the new murphy bed, it is suspended so it's only meant for children 11 or 12 and under. OP - if your grandkids are older than that, might not be worth the murphy bed because they might not be able to use it.

If the murphy bed is too small have you considered taking a twin air mattress or asking for a rollaway bed? Just a thought.

You could bring an air mattress but the rollaway bed may not be allowed. At a hotel I used to work in, they wouldn't allow rollaway beds in certain rooms with two beds due to fire code restrictions. Not to mention, a rollaway bed would make an already small room pretty tight. An air mattress would be tight too, but at least you can lean it against the wall during the day.

The Murphy bed is 5.5' by 2.5'. Just measured it a week ago.
