Port Orleans...pool priveledges

Hi,
We're going to stay at Port Orleans Riverside in July. Can we use the French Quarter pool as well? Is it a long walk?

you are able to use both pools and the walk is about 15 mins with very nice scenery along the way. when in july are you going? we'll be staying at the por from july 7th to the 10th and then we're off on the 4 day cruise and back to por for two more nights.

We're going to be there 7/5-7/10, then back home.

My dh can't get off work so we thought we'd do this resort and save a little money since it's just me and the boys. I'm looking forward to it, but I will miss the Poly food & drink while watching Wishes from the lounge.

You will miss concierge, but give the boatride a try, the campfire if they're running that program, and maybe even a carriage ride (probably would need to book that ahead of time). I love the hot tub and Ol'Man River pool. Depending on your sons' ages they might also like the pool at POFQ (sister resort-- pool hopping totally ok).

Also, if you purchase a refillable mug at POR, I believe you can use it at POFQ as well (and visa versa).

It took us about a 10 minute leisurely walk from the bldg with the food court at POR to POFQ. It's a beautiful walk too. There is also boat transportation between the resorts as well. Coming back from POFQ, you could probably catch a bus because they stop there first before going to POR stops, just double check with the driver.

tink561, maybe our paths will cross since we'll be there at the same time. i have my lime green ribbons on my camera bag and i'm never without the good 'ol camera.

As others have said you can walk to the POFQ pool or take the boat, but it is a nice walk. You can also use either of the food courts also, and the refillable mugs can be used at both. Although the pool at POFQ is rather small but it does have a slide. Also POR has several pools (I think 5) besides their main pool.

You're going in July, I would suggest to use the water taxi. 15 minute walk might feel like 30 minute walk or longer, unless you enjoy walking in a hot summer day. Just bring a water bottle.

We walked from POFQ to POR and it felt like we have been walking for half an hour, though it took us 15 minutes. We rented bikes there and ate there. Then on our way back, we decided to use the water taxi...oh how nice and relaxing!!
