Port Orleans French Quarter Stay 2022

I don't know if this will help or not, but we have stayed at POFQ the last 3 times we were at WDW.
My husband would get up early in the AM, go outside to our beautiful courtyard and sit on a bench there and read.
He loved doing that. Be aware there are smoking areas around the courtyard by our building, but that didn't bother us.
Since the resort is so small with one bus stop, if there are alot of ECV's, it can take a while to get on a bus.
Since it is so small, alot of people with mobility issues stay there, us included, :). It's easier for my husband to get around.
We love the resort, but prefer POR!
Thanks so much for the info. I too love to sit out in the garden area of any resort early in the morning as I love to watch all the birdlife and the resort slowly wake up. Being an early riser you get to enjoy the peace and quiet and charge up your batteries (not your ECV batteries  ) ready for a big day of park touring.

POFQ is very close to Epcot, around 10 minutes on the bus.
Thanks for that. I will miss being able to just walk out my door and wander through international gateway for dinner at EPCOT but my wallet will thank me if I stay at POFQ. I don't mind a bus ride, my only worry is having to wait too long for one to arrive. I have knee issues and standing in one spot for too long does cause me pain so I guess I will just have to wait and see.

I am considering a stay at Port Orleans French Quarter but would love some feed back regarding what I am looking for in a resort and if POFQ will give me what I want.
  1. Firstly I am a very early riser and need a place to be able to sit in the mornings and write my diary while my daughter sleeps in. I usually do this at the Solarium at Beach Club, does POFQ have a communal lounge area or nice places to sit where I could do this?
  2. My favourite park is EPCOT so I am looking for a resort where I can quickly get to and from EPCOT so that I can enjoy an afternoon break and return for evening dining options. Does it take long to get to EPCOT from POFQ?
  3. What is bus transportation like from this resort to the parks, is it efficient? I read that it shares its service with Riverside which I feel would add considerable time to the commute. I intend to travel in November so would love to hear from anyone with any experiences at that time of year.
1. Early riser - the QS buildings should be open even if QS is not. Personally, I like to get up early and go for a run (POR/POFQ is my favorite for this), then hang out in the gazebo and read until the family wakes up. That seems like a good option for what you want to do. There is an indoor area in the entrance to POFQ, as well as the area where they do the check-ins that might also work.
2. We have tried to return to the resort for a break and a swim from EPCOT and it takes a good chunk of your day.
3. We have had no problems with the buses from either PO resort. The buses usually do the POR loop, then stop at POFQ before heading to the parks.

There are bench seats at the POFQ bus stop so you can sit down while waiting for the bus, unfortunately there are no seats at the Epcot bus station, standing only I'm afraid.
