Does Boat Wrights at POR accept the DDP - if so I assume 1 TS credit? It was not listed in the 2011 brochure so I was wondering... other resort restaurants were.

Can't wait we are staying at POFQ next week. We arrive at the airport at 4:50 pm. Do you think we will have enough time to check in (already did online) the get to Earl of Sandwich (DH request) and then get to MK for parade and Wishes?

We used DDP at Boatwright's when we were there in March and it was 1 TS credit. :) I thought it was in the brochure.

I used the ferry saturday and the boat driver said it only dropped PO folks off at the Marketplace.

Correct, the Port Orleans ferries go to the Marketplace dock (next to the Rainforest Cafe) where you can change for boats to other destinations around Downtown Disney. See www.portorleans.org/ferryboats.php for more info.

Yes, Boatwright's is on the DDP.

I think that'd definitely be an either/or, rather than both, unless you are driving in which case you might make it but it'd be very tight. How are you transferring from airport to hotel?

If you get off the plane and collect your luggage quickly, and if you're driving, then you might be at the hotel by around 6-6.30pm, so a quick check-in would allow you to get to DTD by boat or the MK via Disney bus by maybe 8pm? But there are a lot of variables there which might hold you up.

Just read on another site, that there are pool activities and camp fire for raosting marshmallows!!! :cool1:

My friends kids will love this idea, please can anyone give me more info. Like where and when this takes place, can they buy the marshmallows at the store?

Thanks...

The POFQ "Cajun Campfire" is right behind building 6, alongside the river - a lovely location. It occurs daily, and you can get s'mores kits for $7 right there.

For more more info on this and on recreation generally, including timetables, please see the www.portorleans.org/recreation.php

Thanks for the headsup on the $7. We were at CSR a few weeks ago. They didn't have smores kits, just marshmellows and there was no charge. Do they do anything at the campfire? I remember years ago staying at POR and they sang songs and played games. At CSR they we just roasted marshmellows.

We were given marshmallows at no charge at POFQ last month.

is another boat at the same dock as the Port Orleans boat that moves between Marketplace and the Westside. Or it's maybe a 15 minute walk each way

Yes, the PO boats dock on one side and the Marketplace/WEstside boat is on the other. The walk would be nomore than 15 minutes depending on the crowd and how much stopping you do along the way.

Thanks. Did they do anything at the campfire besides roast marshmellows?

No. It was a small campfire with people roasting marshmallows. We did it a couple of nights while we were walking through the area anyway, but it wasn't something special enough for us to plan an evening around. We spent about 10 minutes at the campfire each time we were there. It was a pretty atmosphere with the campfire and the river closeby.

We did very much enjoy the pool games in the afternoon, and the nightly movies! I hope that the pool games and movies are something that will continue at all resorts.

I just read the page on your site, but does the boat go from POFQ to POR to DTD or POR to POFQ to DTD?
In other words, can I take a boat from POFQ to POR?;)

I was there last year so my information is a little fuzzy....

If I recall correctly the boat goes POR, POFQ, DTD.

On the reverse trip it goes DTD, POFQ, POR, So i'm sure you could get on a boat on the return trip and go to POR. I believe, hopefully someone can confirm that for you!

You can but it would be a tad ridiculous. It is about a 5 minute walk between the two, or about a 5 minute boatride. However, between waiting for the boat, boarding the boat and diembarking, the 5-minute boat ride would probably take about 10-20 minutes. And, when you get to POR, they WILL make you get off, and wait in line to get back on.

We liked the idea of the boat to DTD....until we tried it, and waited over an hour for it. The boat would show up from POR with room for exactly 4 people from POFQ. So, even though there were only about 12 people waiting when we got there, we had to wait like 4 boats. WE considered getting on the boat and getting off again at POR, but there was also apparantly a big line at POR as well, and again they make everyone get off at the end. From when we left our hotel room at POFQ to when we arrived for dinner @ DTD, was almost 2 hours.:scared1: Still makes me mad as you can probably tell. A different evening I wanted to go to DTD for AC, I took the bus. Took 15 minutes by bus.

So, I guess what I'm saying is, if you get to the boat dock, and there is any line at all, and the first boat gets there and you can't get on it, take the bus to DTD, and then take the boat back. (The boat ride itself is quite nice.)
