We're here now and are checking out tomorrow to head to vero beach! No problems at all and we were given building 6 which is what we requested so that was great!

had requested building 4. called CRO at least 5 times before the trip making sure it was on the ressie.

Probably better (for next time, sorry) to make one call or fax directly to the resort a day or two before you arrive, rather than five to the reservatioons center beforehand where they can really only check that the words are on a screen.

That said, at least you got a river view, and POFQ isn't THAT big a resort to get around.

Which has the better food court POFQ or POR ? Just wondering because we are staying at POFQ and thought maybe we may go to POR if it was better ? Another question what is the fastest way from POFQ to POR ? Is there a boat that goes from one to the other , that may be fun. ?

POFQ does not have a table service restaurant. The food court (Sassagoula Floatworks) has sufficient food. Nothing gourmet, but all of it is good. Nice breakfast selection (which, if I had my way, would be the biggest meal of the day). Lunch and dinner, the few times we had it, were good. Excellent pot roast with mashed potatoes -- I was pleasantly surprised.

Boatwrights is the table service restaurant at POR but we've never eaten there. I understand you should make ADRs there. They discontinued breakfast a few years ago. There is a food court, Riverside Mill, but we've never eaten there either.

You can go from POFQ to POR by walking along the river (very nice walk, very relaxing, maybe ten or fifteen minutes). Or you can catch the boat and ride up via water. If time is not a factor, then take the boat. But if you are limited, then you are better off walking than waiting for the boat most times. Be sure to take the boat to DTD at least once. You'll get to see the Tree House Villas along the way.

sigh,,,,,

Pina Calava = $70 bar tab :)

If anyone has questions, I'll try to answer.

I'm not much for alcoholic drinks but I've wanted to try a Pina Colava since hearing about them. But I thought they were only available at the Poly. Ok, put that on the list for next time . . .

Can you tell me what is in one? We somehow missed out on this last time at POFQ. TIA;)

The Pina Colava is a regular pina colada with a raspberry puree swirled in it. Very good!!!

Ok, POFQ fans. This is my first time heading to this resort, we always stay at POP.

Without looking through 98 pages, (although I have read quite a few of them to educate myself) I can't find pictures of the new refurbed rooms.
Can someone link me??

Thanks!!

You can get them most places at WDW.:confused3 I've had a virgin pina colava many times as my beverage on the DDP. I've had them at Artist Point, Flying Fish, Yachtsman, Konas, California Grill, Narcoosee, and Mama Melrose.

Officially booked as of this afternoon. 3/31/2012-4/7/2012. Thank you so much to everyone who has posted reviews/pictures to this thread. You made my decision to stay at POFQ SO EASY. :)

Now to just wait. tick tick tick ;)

Yes, I booked a standard room too. One side of building 2 faces the pool, but the other side faces a pretty courtyard with a fountain in the middle. We were directly across from the fountain, in room 2114. Again it was a perfect location. At first I was disappointed that we couldn't get in building 4, but as soon as I saw the location of our standard room in building 2 I fell in love with it. I loved being so close to the boat dock and main pool, plus we were also close to the main building.

We also ended up in building 2 when requesting paying for a standard room. We were in 2210. It was PERFECT. Right around the corner from the pool, a straight shot to the boat dock and super close to the food court. I didn't do any sort of room request at all and I was thrilled with the location. :)

I think POR has a lot more choices in the food court. And yes, there is a boat that goes back and forth. There is also a walking path you can take along the river that goes from one to the other.

So adding that to my list... Virgin Pina Colava. I can't drink much alcohol due to a medical thing and the stuff I want to try at Food and Wine will already be pushing it (even with sharing with mom). I don't know why I always forget about getting virgin drinks.

Yay! So glad to read your comments...we are getting more excited every day...since we have stayed at CSR several times and loved it, I was hesitant to change it up, but people on this thread have been overwhelmingly happy at POFQ. Since the beds have changes to Queens, there was no reason to not try it out...DH is going to love it so much!!!
