Historically, yes. Now whether or not they will release AP rates during June & July 2011 remains to be seen. Here's a link to that information:

http://www.mousesavers.com/historicalwdwdiscounts.html#codetrends

Last year, the room-only AP rates for 6/4-8/14/2010 were released on 3/24/2010.

Thanks! I saw last years was released in March but in 09 and 08 it was released in early May. I guess we might have to book a room only rack rate and then wait and see. At least with room only, you have till a week or so before to cancel it unlike a package where you have to pay in full 45 days prior!

Thanks again for the info!!!

This may seem like a silly question, but I'm asking those of you who have stayed at POFQ before and since the refurb. Since they now have queen beds, is the bed closest to the bathroom up against the wall in that corner? I use to have to put the suitcases between the wall and the bed every night. Also are the new vanities higher or lower than the pedestal sinks?

Thanks for the help:flower3:

I got a little bit of a surprise when I clicked on Elliot Dyson's link. His website says he's appearing from Oct. 20, 2010 through Oct. 1, 2011. :scared1: We're going at the end of October; any chance he won't be there???

He's probably got an annually renewed contract. I've not heard that he's planning to leave though - why don't you drop him a message and ask him if he's likely to be there during your trip? (elliot@elliotdyson.com)

I'm hoping someone can help me.

My family will be staying at POFQ beginning June 2nd. We will either need to take a taxi to grocery store or have groceries delivered. We will be traveling with a 4 month old and will either need to purchase diapers or ship them. So we are trying to figure what option is most cost efficient.

Possible items to purchase: diapers, wipes, breakfast items, adult beverages, snacks, bottled water, gatorade

Question #1: Which grocery store is the closest and how are the prices (ie. more expencive than normal due to disney proximatey)?

Question #2: Which grocery store would be our best bet to take a taxi to?

Question #3: How much would cab fare be and will the cab wait for us?

Thanks in advance for your help!!!:thumbsup2

Our last 3 visits to POFQ we have always had groceries delivered by Garden Grocer. It was well worth it. They have a website & they are very good. Our groceries were always there when we got there. Bell Services will hold them for you. To me it is so much easier than taking the time & cost of a cab to go & get them.

Thanks! I have thin hair also so it does dry quickly. Everytime I'm packing I bring my straightener and all my hair products thinking I'm going to blow it out and it make it all nice but I usually just throw it up in hair elastic anyways...gotta love florida humidity :lmao:

I threw my little straightener in, used it one day, then got my hair braided at GF, so then I really didn't use it at all haha :rotfl:

There was a little bit of space between the wall and the bed but not a ton. I'm not sure if you would be able to fit a suitcase there or not. We shut ours up and put them in the closet. My brother set his on top of the AC unit. We had a room that could have been connecting so there was a ton of space next to the bed and where the connecting door is.

Not sure if they are higher or lower but you do have a ton of storage on the top of the sinks and below as well (there is a shelf). You also have storage above in the closet.

As Disneyfan61 said, Garden Grocer is the way to go. When we have flown with a baby and a toddler I had diapers, wipes, milk, bottled water, formula, a roll of paper towels, soft drinks and some snacks delivered. It was great and the delivery fee will probably be much less than what you would spend on a car or taxi to go to the store. It's a great service and they have lots of items to choose from. Have a great trip!

Thanks for posting the photos. We can't wait to get there in August and see the renovated rooms in person!!

It's unlikely, unless they are very full. They have slightly staggered the start of work by floor on a few of the buildings so far, but mostly they seem to shut the whole building while most of the work is going on.

Let us know what's going on this week - I'm pretty sure building 2 will be either fully open by now or almost there, and work will have started on building 3 today.

Okay guys, T-15 minutes and I will be leaving the house. Our flight is at 11:20am EST. I have everything ready to go, listening to DisRadio while I wait for my DSis to pick me up. The weather is not looking too promising this week-boogers. With my limited picture taking skills I will try to get some pics of the resort and will pass along what I can see/hear as far as refurbs.

Talk to you guys tonight as I am nestled in my (hopefully) new queen bed at POFQ!!!!!:)

How exciting!! Have a safe flight! It's thundering now in Central Florida, and it was raining cats and dogs early this morning, but the rain has stopped now. Hopefully the weather will cooperate for your trip. Most of the rain today was from 3am til 9ish.

Hi guys! We had a safe and pleasant flight in on Southwest from Louisville, KY to Orlando and we touched down to pouring rain!:sad1: Seriously, buckets of POURING RAIN! I'm trying really hard to get over it, but it has really put a damper (pun intended :lmao:) on my plans for this evening.

Richard was the CM at the front desk and was most helpful. We got a refurbed room (not a corner), but he worked really hard to help us find a courtyard view-which also has a view of the river.

I LOVED seeing this picture! You see, I am an Interior Designer, so I got a chuckle out of this and yelled "Presentation Board!".

Yea, I'm an odd one!

Thanks for the pics!
