If you don't add a credit card now, they will have to swipe the card when you check in; so shouldn't slow you down more than a couple seconds! ;)

haha, thanks! i did it last night in the dark and i didn't feel like fetching my wallet. does it matter if its the same cc that i used to pay the deposit on the resort??

Thank you for the carriage information Andre. Port Orleans is turning out to have more attractions for my family than Coronado. The carriage ride is now a must along with the boat trip, coin pressing, caricatures, pool while slide is open, and cane pole fishing.

After the renovations, will POFQ have upgraded hair products or still the combo shampoo/conditioner? I can't carry on enough of these liquids through the airport for all our hairs for the length of our stay.

It does not have to be the same card. I tried to electronically ok the use of my Disney card that was used to reserve the package, but the expiration date comes inbetween now and then. I plan on having it added after I am sent a new card and before I arrive. Just call.

Doesn't matter. I have 2 Disney Visas and use whichever one is farthest from its billing cut-off date!! Sometimes it's the same one I used for the deposit, sometimes not!

We just got back from 4 nights/5 days at POFQ!

We checked in at 8pm on the 17th and were assigned a room in building 3 (go figure) but thanks to my research from Dis, I knew that that room was not redone yet so I asked for any building/any floor in a new room and was given an upgrade to river view in building 6 which is the building I had requested.

Our room was in pretty good shape. I thought it could have been a little cleaner. The toilet was a little dirty as was the night stand and dresser drawers but I got some wet ones out and then it was fine. Our first day of Mousekeeping was okay and I think it was done really quickly. The beds really weren't tucked in, we didn't get any extra shampoos/soaps, or new cups but after that we had outstanding Mousekeeping and got towel animals too!!

We always had good experiences at the food court. We ate at 8am every day except for today which was at 10 and it was packed at 10am but at 8am it was dead! I guess people really take the relaxed feeling of the resort and sleep in!! They had the new mugs and took some of the old lids and were putting them on some of the new mugs. We bought the pink, yellow and blue ones.

The pool was good, water was a tad cool, but it was clean and we never had an issue finding chairs in the mid afternoon. They even put out a stock of brand new pool towels that were so soft!!

Buses were awesome! We loved that the bus only went to MK and back! The only other location we took the bus to was AK and it did stop at POR but it was mid afternoon so I'm sure it was because it wasn't too busy. We never waited longer than 10 mins for a bus but we also had a car so we didn't use the bus much. We took the boat to DTD which was a great ride that I had never done before and took about 15 mins.

We used airline check-in and everything was great + our bags made it back to us in Cincinnati! I requested late check-out for 1pm today and was granted it :)

Overall we had a great experience and would for sure stay there again!!!!!

We just got back from a wonderful stay at POFQ. Great newly renovated room in building 5, beautiful weather, couldn't have been a nicer visit.

The combo shampoo/conditioner is what we were given.

Sorry, this is a really random question but does anyone know if POFQ or even POR sell the colored Mickey straws at the food courts (I think they are around .50 each)???!!!

PLEASE LET ME KNOW :) Thanks!!!

I don't remember off-hand seeing them at POFQ (although they might have been there), but I am positive I saw them at the check-out counter when we walked over to the POR food court for dinner two nights ago They were $.49 each.

Thankyou for your mini trip report :goodvibes It just adds to the excitement of my first stay there in just over 3 months time :cloud9:

They were there a couple of weeks ago, at the check out counter.

So excited to hear this! This is the building (building one) I have requested for our stay the first week of May! Glad you had a great time!

Thanks for all info contained in this thread about POFQ. :thumbsup2 I haven't ready through all the pages yet, but I'll read through them all later today. We are staying here at POFQ for the very first time very soon, looking forward to seeing the renovated rooms. I've stayed at POR back in 2002 and absolutely loved it. Now we're ready to give FQ a try. We also lucked out and got a great AP rate thanks to our hard working TA we used. :)

Hi Andre!

I love this thread and your portorleans site. I am having an issue though seeing anything on the portorleans site-I can see the header on top and the menu buttons on the left side, but it won't let me choose anything.

Do you know if I need to change the settings on my browser to be able to view portorleans fully?

Thanks!

Yes, they do have the Mickey Straws at POFQ. I think they were around.48/.49. I bought one for myself to put in my refillable mug! They were also selling them at Columbia Harbour House for the same price and they were selling like crazy..perhaps a new trend in the CS restaurants?!
