Port Orleans French Quarter FAQ thread - Refurbished for 2011 - Now CLOSED

Can't enlarge that unfortunately. Any idea of the nearest Publix or Walmart? - will have use of a car for part of the trip.

There is a Publix across from the Premium Outlet which isn't far.

So I reckon the POFQ building 3 refurbishment should be completed this weekend (or in the next couple of days anyway) and the rooms re-opened for guests. Could someone at the resort at the moment confirm this?

If so, that'll be POFQ fully done and time for us to start watching for work to start at Riverside!

It looked like most of it was in the sun??

Thanks for the update. Staying at POR the end of August after many trips to POFQ. Would love to be one of the lucky ones to get a rehab room at POR!

I haven't spent much time at the pool, so I may not be 100% accurate. I know there are tables with chairs around the pool bar. Seems to me there is a fence dividing that area off from the pool (no alcohol beyond the fence, I think). I believe that around the pool there are only lounge chairs.

No tables around the pool, only lounge chairs. There are plenty of tables near the poor bar though, with umbrellas for shade.

I am so excited! We will be at POFQ in 37 days! It's our first stay at POFQ, and I can't wait to see the refurbed rooms! We are starting our trip at POFQ and then hopping over to POR. I think we'll be there about the time they begin redoing the rooms at POR, so we'll be sure to look around for signs of the refurbs starting!

besides the tables and chairs posted, there is shade because of the tall trees around the pool. There was lots of opportunity to be in shade around the pool.
