I'm at 37 days today! And it's my first stay at a Mod. So excited!!!! 9 nights at POFQ

Question- I read somewhere that the playground was being refurb'd. Is that going on now? Any idea when it will open back up? I am not anticpating a ton of time at the resort, just curious. TIA!

49 days for our trip for my twins high school graduation trip and to belatedly celebrate DD's 21st birthday. She told me the other day she is really looking forward to the grey goose. Wow how time flies. Seems just like yesterday my wife was pregnant with her twin brothers and she liked Mickey and Minny. Now it's the grey goose slushies Only bright side to that is I have one more person to drink them with

We've paid are balance, all ADRs are made, we know which park on which day, and now awaiting our trip packet!!!!

The April Mouse Savers Newsletter lists the French Quarter playground closed from 5/2/11 through 5/27/11 for refurbishment. It is not that large of a playground area, I would think that 4 weeks would be enough time to install all new playground equipment in an area that size.

Does anyone know if there are tables with chairs by the pool, or good shade.

It looked like most of it was in the sun??

Previous Posters have mentioned the tables with umbrellas by the bar as well as shady areas by trees. I wanted to mention one more area which gets a lot of afternoon shade. The large clam shell which sprays water into the center of the pool casts shade over a row of lounge chairs next to it in the afternoon. Hope you find a spot you enjoy. It is a great pool area.

oh... and... for those who ask about FQ or RS... we went to look at RS, and much preferred FQ... so much smaller and compact. RS seemed so big and spead out. Especially with little kids, the compact size is ideal.

We were at FQ the week after you. I can't agree more with your statement. I've stayed at POR many times, right back to its first summer as Dixie Landings in '92. This was our first stay at FQ, and we liked it much more than POR. The small size is ideal after coming back from the parks with small children. I was worried that the resort would not feel as relaxing as the country feeling at POR. I was completely wrong. FQ was just as relaxing and tranquil as POR.
