Wow... no, I was not quoting you. I didn't even see your post before. :confused3 I was simply making a very general comment about what I have seen on these boards... and I stand by that comment. In your situation you did know, but many times we have seen posts over the years where people ARE exaggerating. So yes, you do need to take such posts with a grain of salt because often there IS the matter of perspective.

Please do not take my post personally, because it was not aimed at you in any way. It was simply a post for the poster I did quote and letting them know that worrying about the bus situation is only going to stress them out because there is nothing that can really be done about it (unless they drive themselves). It is what it is. Sometimes buses can take awhile (I never said they could not), but sometimes they don't. Nothing is perfect.

I apoligize if you did not direct it at my comments earlier. Your response was after I had written that it took 30 mins, just the other day, and in response to the poster you were replying to. this is why I felt that it was directed towards my statement about bus times. so sorry... maybe I'm on edge after reading a bunch of other posts where people are being... well... not so friendly. :sad2:

I always tell people, if you don't let them know, then you have no right to complain. We did let them know about the busses, and they did seem to improve. Hopefully more will do the same. These busses were the slowest I've encountered at resorts, so glad to hear that its not a POFQ thing, and is just the typical transportation issues.

I took some pics of the grounds... maybe it will give those going something to get excited for?

Hey no issues. I promise, it was NOT directed at you in anyway, shape, or form. I seriously did not see or remember your post and, as such, did not take it into account in my post.

Peace? :flower3:

And I agree... if you DO experience a long wait, please let transportation know. Like you said, if you don't let them know, they can not improve it.

What I was pointing out are the threads we see where one person comes on and complains they waiting 40+ minutes for the bus when they were staying at POFQ (as an example) and how horrible the resort is because of that... and then another person posts that they were at the same resort for the same days but never waiting more then 10 minutes, which was awesome. So, how can both be a true indicator of the average wait time for that resort? Is 40+ minutes normal or is 10 minutes normal? THAT is what my post was based off of and why you have to take posts "with a grain of salt".

Heck, I say the same thing about housekeeping and restaurant reviews all the time. For every bad, there will be a good.

And trust me, I get the "on the edge" feeling a lot around here too. With this only being written communication, it can sometimes be difficult to read intent in a message. As such, miscommunications can happen. No biggie!

:hippie: now if everyone could just suck it up, kiss, and make up, maybe we wouldn't have so many negative posts around here ;)

I have to add that we didn't really have any issues with the CMs at POFQ... some were not the "most" friendly, but there wasn't anything to complain about.

And Arneil... he is the sweetest man. My kids called him the "Magic Man" because of the coins he handed out all day! We got his signature and a pic with him on our last day, and thanked him for helping to make our stay magical :wizard:

Winue, Thanks for sharing the pics! I'm trying to get excited about FQ, but my heart is at CSR where there were no rooms available.

Rue D'Baga ... :lmao:
We took a picture of that sign when we were there in december and texted it to my dad. My youngest dd and my dad have an ongoing joke wherein they call each other ruby red rutabagas (don't ask, I have NO idea why they find this funny). So Catie had to send Grandpa a pic of HIS sign...

Sorry if I've overlooked it in the threads...but can someone give me a general idea of the ME drop off schedule? Is POFQ typically the last stop, first stop? I know they can change but just curious so we know what to expect and plan for. :cool1:

Thanks in advance,
Heather

Heather,

There have been a lot of threads about this, but to answer your question there generally really doesn't seem to be a schedule. I've stayed at POFQ 12 times and used ME for about 11 of those visits, and each time it varies. Generally, its been my experience that the stops are arranged by the number of guests getting off, so if POFQ has the most guests on a bus that stop will probably be first, but I've also seen exceptions to this. You can expect to arrive at POFQ within about 90 minutes of landing (often less time than this), so don't try to plan for your arrival; just sit back and enjoy the trip. The drop-offs usually go pretty fast.

The one time I KNEW POFQ would be first was in 2009 when it was early in the morning when my sister and I caught the ME and we were the only passengers. We waited for a while, but I guess the ME staff checked incoming flights and decided we would be kept waiting too long. That trip to POFQ was great, and so was our chauffer - I mean, driver.

Thank you!! :cheer2:

What other resorts are included in the stops for POFQ? I know with the POP it was typically the CBR and one I can't think of now. :confused3 You're right - it changes constantly and our first visits to POP we went straight there and the last two visits we stopped at CBR first and then POP second.

Thanks again,
Heather

What you have to remember about buses is that some of it is subjective and much of it is timing and luck.

One person can show up and happen to have a bus waiting for them so they think "Hey, these buses are awesome."

Another person can show up just as a bus pulls away and then has to wait for the next one which could be 15-20 minutes. This person then thinks "Man, these buses are horrible!". But, if they had arrived one minute earlier, then they would have been person number one.

Then you have the fact that unless the person was literally watching the clock to see how long it takes, you really need to take the whole "I waiting 30 minutes!" with a grain of salt. I know that in my experiences, I will exaggerate the amount of time when in that sort of situation. I thought it had been 30 minutes when really it had been about 20. BIG difference in my opinion.

Plus, bad bus times can happen anywhere at anytime. There are simply too many variables in play to make public transportation "perfect" all the time.

So, what I am trying to say is don't worry about it. It is not really something you can control. So plan extra time to get places and just relax and go with the flow! :flower3:
I found your post extremely helpful and informative. Thank you!!!!!

How are the new pillows with the refurb?

Are they like typical hotel pillows that you have to stack two on top of each other to equal one normal pillow?:laughing:

Iwould like to know about pillows as well...also what about comforters...I assuming these are not fluffy comforters you find in other hotels...LOL

I arrive the Saturday after Thanksgiving at POR. They do whatever they can to get people back to the airport to start checking out from the holiday, to get the extra day at home.

Since 2000, I have NEVER been on the same route and with the same buses once.

Last year, they grouped POR with BW/YC/BC, but we were the first stop.

Two years ago, it was OKW/SSR/POFQ/POR.

The years before it has been totally different.

I really wouldn't sweat it about planning exactly what stops and who will be first. Expect to be at your resort about 70 - 90 minutes after you deboard your plane.

Thanks to all of your for your recent pics...I am so excited to be going back to the POFQ! Especially since it is newly remodeled...the last time we were there was June 09 and the rooms were pretty shabby

Just 38 more days...but whose counting? :rolleyes1
