Has anyone been? I'm thinking of taking my OH there as a birthday surprise.

How easy is it to get from Barcelona airport to Port Aventura? I was thinking of taking the train.
How many days will we need in the parks? His birthday falls into the lowest season (E).

Thanks

Subscribing too. :)

We or should i say I am interested in visiting, busy looking at next years brochures and not that badly priced.

I went with my son a year ago and had a great time. If you are planning to just visit the park you might want to check out flights to Reus which is a small airport on the outskirts of Salou which alot of charter airlines use, then you will have a very quick transfer to your hotel.

We stayed at the Dorada Palace which is in walking distance of the park and the beach and I highly recommend it.

We stayed for a week and visited the park on three days (also in the low season) but we did not visit the Caribe aquatic park as we were happy to hang out at the beach and the hotel's pool.

If you are planning a short break three days ought to cover it.

Hope this helps.

I have been to Port Aventura about half a dozen times and I really love it!

If you go low season you could probably do it in two days and then a day or half a day even for Costa Caribe. We have stayed in hotels in Salou and La Pineda which is a short bus ride away but I recommend either the Hotel Port Aventura or Hotel Caribe Resort - definitely 2 of my favourite hotels - plus with these hotels (which are HB) you get unlimited park entrance. They also now offer entrance to a private beach club which I have yet to go to and am very keen to see the inside of! lol

I also recommend flying into Reus which is only about 20 minutes from the main hotels - to fly into Barcelona gives you something like 2 hours transfer time (based on a day trip we did to Barca).

Let me know if you need to know anything else and I'll help if I can! - and have a great time if you go!!! :cool1: :thumbsup2

We drove there from London! Well we got the ferry to Bilboa and drove down in July 2003. Just turned up at the Port Ventura hotel and booked in there and then for a few nights. on our second day while staying here we drove into Barcelona, parked and found the Hard Rock Cafe (we collect the glasses and t-shirts) with no map! It didn't seem to be a long drive.

We really liked these parks as when we went they stayed open late and it was much cooler in the evening and a great atmospheare. We really liked it in this part of spain and decided to buy a vacation home here.

However I would add this park is not nearly as good as the Florida parks in my opinion.

Let us know what you decide.
